This is still a bigger Tiger Shark than I EVER want to catch while I'm fishing from a kayak. I am an avid offshore fisherman and own a 31' Bertram, and even then, not sure I'd want to hook into a Tiger. I've caught a lot of sharks over the years, but have heard horror stories from people, especially from first mates and "wire men", about what sort of damage even a small Tiger can and will do to your gear and boat. This guy was WAY calm about catching a Tiger on his kayak, and for that, I have to give him mad props.

That's a lot of ships, I would try to avoid fishing in that area. I would recommend looking for a place with a lot less boat traffic.

im shipping the kayak to singapore , the shore around this small country is quite "ugly" but im doing this for the great work out option. the reason the shore is so ugly is cuz singapore is a big time shipping pot 100s of huge ships come in and out at one point we can have like 300 shipps waiting in our waters to dock , so all the constant movement makes the water look brown " muddy "

i was considering a 10ft one but its $860 for a tamarack kayak ( to ship to my country ) and $760 for the 9ft spitfire and $660 for the 8ft spitfire , considering that my budget is capped at $840 i have to decide whether the extra 1 foot from 9ft will be worth it or if 8ft to 9ft is even much of a diff also

Unfortunately in this situation the hook was left in the sharks mouth. The leader broke as I was preparing to remove the hook. It was only 60lb fluorocarbon.

It's not really a good kayak, I would recommend purchasing a Malibu Mini-X-Standard. "Sit on top" or open kayaks are the easiest to climb back into if you flip.

It's different with every fish and with the depth of water that you are in. You could get towed over a mile if the fish is big enough.

isn't there anyway to fish without baiting sharks though? it's dangerous for you number 1 but number 2 small sharks grow and that area can become infected. Also just cuz it doesn't do major damage doesn't mean it doesnt hurt the shark

Just like other people, I need a good fisherman rod recommendation. I need a good catfish pole. You probably don't catfish but you might still have a good rod recommendation, we catch good sized ones. The rod I want is a Ugly stick tiger lite 7' heavy action. It is about $60. But I need a reel, I have been thinking about Abu Garcia Ambassadeur C3 or C4. I think you could let me know on some things about those reels and suggest other ones. Thanks!

Most trolling motors do not have a kill switch, but you can install one easy enough. Be careful and stay safe always!

When you surf launch, it is imperative that you "DON'T" turn on your trolling motor. It is much safer to launch man powered, for easier control, than it is to use a trolling motor. Any time in the surf you want total paddling power, for ease of direction. I have "Flipped" my kayak by not adhering to these guidelines. I learned that the hard way. When you are away from the surf breakers, bring the engine down and cruise away. Always have your paddle near by in case off sudden need. Tight Lines!

That was an awesome video guys! I kayak fish Beyond the Breakers also in Broward County. I have yet to land a shark like that. I just installed a trolling motor on my kayak and it helps me a lot offshore with the currents. Tight Lines and Peace Out!

I just ordered a penn 9/0 and I'm planning on rigging it with 1000 yds of 100 lb braind. I'll also have 14ft of ltr and a 18/0 circle hook. How big a shark do you think I could handle with that set up?
