I have the 18 pound thrust Watersnake on a kayak. Yesterday I hit an oyster bar with the foot of the motor and the shaft popped out of the plastic bracket on the mounting assembly. Is this normal to avoid bending the shaft or did the plastic sleeve that surrounds the shaft break? I don't know if there was a gap in that ring prior to the incident or not so I am not sure if this is normal or if part of that plastic ring broke off. If it is normal, how do you get the shaft back inside the plastic ring? I took the head off to get the shaft back n the plastic ring but I dont think that was necessary.

You left out the footage of the bolts being tighened within the kayak. Can you please provide footage of this vital process.I won't be a able to purchase the T24 until I have seen it. Thanks.

Nick Duckitt just make sure that you have access to where the nuts go. If you don't, use rivets instead. You can get a rivet gun for around $10.

i just installed one of these and tested this week. One thing this video does not show is to make sure you an access the area where the mount will be installed from inside the kayak. I was just lucky to have a person with very long thin arms handy.....otherwise it would have been a waste of money. Now installed...it works great....very happy with it other than the jack bar being very very tight to fit even when tightening bars are completely undone.

I have one of these but I mounted it on the back. Is so much better, kayaks don't steer well from the middle!

I just thought of a grate idear , you can use a shark sheald long diving leash attached to the kayak ternnit on away you go no need to worry about sharks touching of coming to close lol . I will do a video and always carry a dead shark smelling protection can so if it does come too close throw it in last resort and watch them feek out and disappear . I take two cans incase of emergency and rescue becon. Never know if you need it .

I know you've said it works on motors with 24 lbs of thrust; I have a 34 Ib thrust Watersnake; would it work in this one, too? (the shaft diameter looks about the same, I think).

Markus Haefner our internet isn't censored in the US. I can see your website just fine. You aren't getting the same hits because nobody has a need to visit your particular site. Watersnake is a widely distributed manufacturer. You, aren't. It's that simple.

I have just ordered this unit that comes with the new bracket only, So would this come with the shaft holder already pre-attached ? as the video refers to those changing over from the old style brackets to the new one. One would assume that the need to avoid having to remove motor head would be more of a benefit to the technically challenged buyers. Also I noticed the video does not show how much difficulty there was in trying to attach the nuts to the bracket underside if the rod holders are the closest point to attach. Would need very small hands.

im tryin to order one from ebay. just not sure if it will fit my Minnkota endura c2 trolling motor. the shaft size is 1.125 inches i think thats 28mm. do you know or if anyone has tried to mount that motor on your motor mount? want to know before i purchase. thanks

Hi, Jed. We don't specify speed as such because it is invariably linked to the size, weight and hydrodynamics of your watercraft. The speed for a lightweight streamlined kayak could be vastly different to a heavy and bulky canoe. The thrust is the only consistent measure and the Watersnake ASP is either 18lb or 24lb. Hope that helps! ;)

Also why is the motor mount requiring disassembly of the motor head when you could have easily designed the bracket that attaches to the shaft to bolt on???? instead of sliding onto the shaft... crazy stupid design

Above the mount stem are screw bolt type clasps taking height to about 8 inches soooo easy to take off and put back on

deep cycle leisure battery 12V 50-100Ah Lithium batteries LiFeP04 are too expensive at the moment. Also depends on how long you intend to be on the water - 30Ah would be the least you should go for 100Ah might be a bit overkill.

You need more distribution to the United States. I have folks constantly asking where to get your Watersnake T18/T24 motors. You used to have them on Amazon which was nice and convenient. Are you planning to expand U.S distribution?
