@lampposteffect You would likely surprise yourself. These appear to be Pilot whales,m Social and friendly. Humpback are much larger, social and have an aura of ease about them. At 30 tones you don't need to worry much about a 50 lb kayak. Once you get comfortable with them it is an awesome thing to be in their company and be allowed to stay thee.

Yes indeed those are Pilot Whales. :) Probably long-finned, due to their location.

I love how everyone asks if there killey whales but throughout the whole comment section people are saying "Pilot whales" but people still ask. D: I live in Nova Scotia and I've never done that, although I've seen them when I was on boats and whatnot, along with seals, there cool to.

Porpoises have smaller dorsals. They ARE pilot whales. Long-finned to be exact.

I think they might be Minkes.I went for my honeymoon to Cape Breton, and tented in the Highlands, absolutely beautiful, and very friendly locals
