You need to displace more water to get this to work properly. Additionally, I think that putting the foam in the tubes removes a lot of space necessary for the air needed for buoyancy. Pontoons aren't filled with foam. They gots air in em' guvna.

You need to try and kill off all of your bad species of sunfish in the pond(green sunfish, warmouth, etc.) and leave the more pure bloods such as copper nose and so on. I did it to my pond and have seen great results because the bass no longer have to compete with the green sunfish and warmouth. Do that, stock lots of bait, and have controlled harvest of your bass and you will have a great pond.

For better flotation - fill the pvc with swimming pool noodles cut to length to take up most of the space. Then secure that with expanding foam insulation from a can and glue the caps on.

Idk how to get to you rob to help with your trapping.. but it makes me cringe a little. When you set up a trap in wilderness instead of in town, you have to make a trap look natural. Put it in a brush pile, against a tree with brush over it, like sticks laying against the tree over the live trap where it looks like a lean-to. These are most effective. It might help to switch up your bait a little. SARDINES will make all the difference I promise. Junk food may work ok, but coons are smart. They know to take natural food over anything else. They smell your scent more than you know and can always tell what’s human made. Texas trapping as well as Oklahoma and all around the heartlands. You can even resort to wet cat food. Or buy a little bottle of raccoon attractant. It’ll be small and seem too expensive buying a small bottle but a couple drops around and leading into the live trap will make all the difference. It will increase your coon capture rate and lower trash species like possum and skunk being caught.

After watching the video on the concrete fish attractors, I made 2 myself, but filled with concrete. I also used 3/4" PVC across the bottom to make and X that would prevent the attractor from tipping over. My concern was also how do i get these in the pond where i want them. On land they were very heavy and hard to carry with protruding pipe everywhere.. but once in the water they became very light and could easily hold with 1 hand. I would recommend using Jon. B's new john boat!

Not enough water displacement, and foam pumped in PVC pipes won't make it more buoyend as it just will make it heavier, the foam will help if it leaks though to keep it from sinking so it's a bit of a catch 22

i hate to be the bearer of bad tidings but there are a couple major boo-boos you guys made with this. its been hilarious to watch but when you added the foam to the inside of the tubes you removed the air space needed for buoyancy. also drilling holes isnt the best idea. if you would build the wooden frame with say 2x2 and 1x2 or even 1/4 inch plywood for the floor and then STRAP the frame and floor to the tubes they will stay airtight and be WAY more buoyant. also 3 of the 4 inch tubes full length will probably better weight bearing overall. ( sorry sometimes its a bitch to be an engineer)

Looks like fun! If you want that thing to float,add long 4" thick strips of rigid insulation foam to the bottom of that frame. If you are planning on making a version 3 of it,I would start over with the thickest,longest, rigid insulation foam boards you can find as the main deck,and structure,and maybe use thinner lighter pieces of wood for some strength. Too much wood is going to weigh it down,like this version 2 of the thing. You can easily make 2 simple pontoons with that foam,and attach a simple lawn chair to it,and be good to go. I saw a picture of a guy that did that. I also found plans online to make the pontoons. Good luck!

I was watching the Ultimate Sniper Challenge at Fort Benning. 1) 75th Ranger Regiment 2) National Guard-Fort Benning 3) Coast Guard Maritime Response Team. Some pretty awesome shooting. The 430 yard shot hovering at 300 ft in a Blackhawk was awesome to watch. The gilet suit challenge. Amazing shooting and then the finale was the KIMS obstacle. Sorry I couldn’t stop watching the competition to get to your and LGF’s videos sooner.
Nice work on the Chobie V2. I think you and LFG should fine tune it then duplicate it and have a little 1v1 Chobie challenge.

Your biggest issue with the kayak is not really buoyancy as much as surface tension/ weight distribution. You need to put a plastic bottom on it that rises above the current "floor". When you spread out weight it can handle it much better. This is the same as if you stand on a bed of nails vs 1-2. Although using a ballast can help, you're better off using a ribbed design. Run some rails under the plastic to force water in a consistent direction and keep you planted in waves. Obviously you intended for this to be a cheap build and clearly not a very serious job. Hope if you don't give up on it this information helps.

that pond is too small to produce big bass. you might get lucky and get one or two good size bass (5lb+) but you need a bigger and deeper pond if you want to have a lot of big bass

Cut 2 x 4s to 2 x 2s, replace heavy pvc pipe with the thin walled, much lighter drain pipe, don’t fill it with the foam, just glue on caps. You’ll need double the footage of pipe, maybe then. Good luck.

A friend of mine that lives in Clover , S.C. has Charolais and Brahma cattle and every year I would help him nut the male calves. He would furnish all the beer and the steaks afterward but I tell you when you grab a hold of one of those Brahma calves and he would cut the nutsack you were going for a ride let me tell you... mksouthon I definitely need to build some confidence in those baits. I haven't found my favorite stick bait. If I really had to pick, my favorite are GYB's senkos, but those get pricey over time.

I think the cap came off the end of the added pontoon at some point. Pressurizing would not help, making things float is all about displacement and pressure would actually make the tube heavier by an inconsequential amount, if you want to be picky. PVC pipe is not all that light and this project was doomed from inception-hilarious but doomed...
