profanepunk yeah I've been cutting alittle off as I go. I still think I've got the bouys too low. it's almost like they are lifting the yak up. lol

Jared Allen when you're trying to make them start off with longer PVC pipe where it extends farther out and cut it down to the length that it is suitable for your kayak so it makes it more stable. I find that the longer the PVC pipe is and it makes it still a little wobbly the shorter you keep cutting it the more stable it gets just keep trying your best. thank you for watching my video good luck on your kayak

did the same thing but just have floats about a foot from my ocean kayak because I just wanted a little stability and need them in close for maneuvering. The bolts in the flag holder adjustment are too short for constant adjusting. I got longer bolts and jb welded the bolt so it would not fall out. I mounted mine right on the front edges of my cockpit where they are easy to loosed adjusting wingnut and raise them near shore. These floats are amazingly bouyant...I was surprised and very pleased with the results. Great video...good job. Thank you!

Hi. I am currently trying to make these outriggers as they look great . I have the floats and the flag pole holders but I have come against a problem as I live in the UK. I can't for the life of me fid the reducer from the 1 inch to the 3/4 do you have any suggestions please.

I do have one question, you said the flag holder was 3/4 inch ID. however scedule 40 3/4 PVC is 1.050 OD. I am guessing your flag holder was 1 inch.

I made almost identical outrigger., Except I drill a hole to flag holder put a bolt thru with Plastic star knob to secure it completely. You can't rely on the small knob come with the flag holder. Got my flag holder from Amazon for $12.00 each

The outrigs looks great.

However, this final setup looks like it'll put stress pressure on one side of the mounted location.
Did you ever thought about adding a crossbar to distribute the stress to both side?
Kinda like the way they use "sway bar" in sport cars for more stability.

that depends on how long you want them. make long, at first but the keep trying them out until you like were they are at.
