One of the local fish vendor suggested me to add 2-3 small potassium granules in aquarium. He said it will clear the water and will work as disinfectant.
So I add few granules and one of the gold fish ate it. Will this cause problem to them?

I noticed after adding the plants and after adding the root tab my water turned greenish!
would green hurt my goldfish? I haven't moved her to this tank yet?

Depending on the type of wood, it could leech tannins for months and months. Mopani is bad for that. Honestly, I find it best to presoak all driftwood for several weeks or even months to rid the all the tanins.
Since your wood is already in the tank, I suggest getting a few 100ml bags of Seachem Purigen and puting them in your filter. Use one at a time and switch them out when they turn dark brown. You can recharge them per Seachems directions by using a 1:1 bleach water solution to soak the purigen bags with for 24 hrs. I do one cup of water and one cup of bleach. Then after 24 hrs I rinse very well with tap water and soak the bag again in 2-4 cups of water with a few caps of Seachem Prime dechlorinator. Then rinse well again and store damp in a air tight ziplock until the next one needs recharged. Then repeat the process.
I've been using Purigen for almost 4 years and recharging them this way. I use it in both freshwater planted and saltwater fish only tanks with absolutely zero issues when recharged the way I do it. Purigen works great for removing tannins. You could also try using activated carbon, I recommend rox .8
I have had tremendous trouble with the water in my tank being green with algae and also cloudy. I have done plenty of water changes, added all sorts of treatments and even removed the gravel but the problem persists. The tank is not near a window and I have the aquarium light on for about 6 hours a day. ?????????
I've recently bought myself a uv steriliser but am yet to use it as one of my red eyed tetras has a fungal infection so I am treating the tank. I finished the last treatment 24 hours ago and I was just wondering how long I have to wait before installing the uv sanitiser filter.
Cheers
Using for the bubbles to come out I woulike to buy it

6 Peppered Corys
2 Green Corys
4 Albino Longfin BN Plecos
Last week, a brood of BN Pleco babies! UNEXPECTED, but the cloudy water was already an issue long before.
I typically do 25-50% water changes weekly, but this is because I have this same issue you're discussing here. So beautiful and crystal clear, and by 2-3 days slowly back to white and cloudy! The tank has LED lights, which I typically turn on at around 4:30AM when I awake and switch to "moonlight" at about 6PM, turning lights completely out at bedtime, around 10:30PM. All fish doing great....BUT, after every single water change, I get this white cloudy water. I even purchased an extra Marineland Penguin BioWheel FIlter 150 to assist with more filtration (so, I have two of these on the tank currently). I've never changed the BioWheel (per the instructions) and I change my filter media cartridges every 3-4 weeks, and occasionally rinse them slightly when I've fed the guys Tubifex worm cubes, as they tend to miss some and it end up in the filter. I would appreciate any info you could give me. I've not done a parameter check in the last couple weeks, but my numbers are always great. Note: I am getting a 55 gallon or larger at Christmas.....LOVE this hobby. Do you think this cloudy water could be a bloom and/or should I invest in the UV approach? Thanks!
