Hello there i have a question. So i got a betta and a batch of neon tetras (12 fish). I put the betta in a 5 gallon he seamed healthy but didn't ate live, frozen or dried moskitolarva, he also ignored the daphnia. The only things he ate was granoly-things(i'm sorry i'm not a native speaker but i do try my best) and flakes. The neons were doing well too no signs of desease only the overbreeding problem. They are in the big fluval flex (sorry i don't know the gallon size, but you can find out yourself) and did well so i decided to put them together. And a week later i bought a female from a fish store i liked better. They weren't breeding and he did not try to build a bubble nest. The got along well all tough he was chasing her a bit. He did this maybe a day and stopped they acted pretty normal. But then a few days later the neons were showing swimmbladder issius one died and the next got it. Because of a guppy in another tank i dosed esha 2000 against bacterial infections. Every thing seemed fine i did my water changes and it was great. Then one morning when i woke up a neon was missing half of his backside and trapped between the front glas and the thermometer.picked him out, thought maybe he freaked a betta out and got bitten, while he was swimming away he might got stuck in there. And a day later my male betta was struggling to swimm straight flipped on his side heavily breathing. Some times he shoot to another plant or underneath the wood. My tank is heavy planted. more than enough space to hide. Since he wasn't doing well i chose to try another esha attack. It worked on the second day he was starting to swimm normal again but today he floated at the surface totally dead. I kind of saw lightly standing scales on him, on closer expection there was nothing. I don't know for sure what it was but i kind of think of dropsy because the temperature and waterparameters are great. But maybe it was my bad so can someone pls help me?
Ps:i made the pump in the fluval less powerfull by putting a lot of aquarium filterfloss in the first chamber which i cleaned out every two weeks

Is it possible to keep a Betta on its own, or will it be unhappy if it can't see any other fish. I have only one aquarium, so I am worried about It getting depressed

Hi I wonder if you could help me. I have a blue male half moon betta in his own tank and I've recently noticed his tail quality deteriorating; sometimes just a chunk missing, then it heals and there is a split with red edges. Then heals and more splits appear. I'm not sure what is causing it. I don't think it is fin rot because I haven't treated in anyway other than water changes. He has an internal cannister type filter he like to rest near the intake. So I don't know if that is damaging. The only plants are fine needled but really soft :(

Make sure ur lil guy will be able to get to the top of the water for oxygen. Make sure those plants don't obstruct his path.

I bought a moss ball before it was really good for when I was cleaning the tank! I usually put my fish in the sink when I'm cleaning the tank out it is really good for keeping some of the tanks bacteria when they are in new water.

Another thing is you could get java moss and tie that around the drift wood instead of moss balls because with moss balls they need to be moved around or turned so that the part that was against the gravel does not rot or turn brown.

my new Betta fish doesn't know how to eat food. I got him to eat two pellets when I got them to sink but he's basically ignoring the food. can you do a video on picky eaters?

Most fo the time. I always keep them separated. But I did have one escape on me and beat up another male. Its always good to be careful even though accidents happen

i use utillity lamps from home depot with cfl or led bulbs. not pretty but it works.
as for fish ch. aquarium-co op,dustin,and you, ted judy,glen hawkins, and a host of others equaly .

I had one fish in my time. A Gold fish. He was our son's fish. We moved gave Goldie to our son's Hab person. Goldie loved them and even kissed them. How about Romero to name your fish. Joan Bates, brother is an avid fish collection. He has huge tanks.

Finex LEDs lights are good but not tryed them myself. Your middle sized floater plant is called frogbit. The duckweed will take over and spread to all your tanks if your not carefully.

I love the moss balls BUT at stores like Petco, they are ten dollars for one! To me that's kind of expensive for only one... Where do you buy your plants? Also, what are good tank mates for bettas? Because I have a ten gallon with a gourami (Idk how to spell it xD) one molly, six neon tetras, an upside down catfish (At least that's what the worker told me) and one snail... Lastly, what size tank do you recommend for a community betta tank?
