You can dry start plant on rock? How long will you keep it in dry start before fill in water?
Aquatrendz
Aquatrendz - 7 years ago
Ken, sorry for not replying earlier. You can grow Hemianthus calitricoides cuba on rocks. You have to spray nutrients on them.

Aquatrendz my local petsmart has CaribSea Flora Max planted aquarium substrate. Will that work? Thanks again
Aquatrendz
Aquatrendz - 7 years ago
+netty juarez issue with potting soil is it will cloud water when you disturb it. Just Google for ADA amazonia. Some local online petstore will definitely carry it.
netty juarez
netty juarez - 7 years ago
Aquatrendz by locally available soil do you mean it needs to be aquarium soil? Or does potting soil work? Sorry for all the questions I'm trying to get ready to set up my first aquascape tank!
Aquatrendz
Aquatrendz - 7 years ago
i have used controsoil. You may use any locally available soil. ADA amazonia and CAL AQUA black earth are good options.

Can i plant it with tank that filled with water?
speedpsycho

Thank you. Im using ADA Amazonia normal type only. Now Im start to feel awry for not using powder type on top of the normal type Amazonia.
Aquatrendz
Aquatrendz - 7 years ago
Yes. But you have drain the water, plant and then carefully fill up the tank again. You will find many plants float up if you do with tank full of water.

Hello. I'm wondering how the CO2 helped you. I'm thinking of also using CO2 but was wondering if it'd be worth it.

Aquatrendz thank you! I see tiny new growth starting to sprout but its so slow, i dose excel and im waiting for my co2 system to come in. thanks again.
Aquatrendz

Its a really helpful video, but my doubt is regarding the co2 requirement for the plants to grow.. When there is no water . only spraying and the light will help the plants to grow or there are any more additives ?
Aquatrendz
Aquatrendz - 8 years ago
+Amin Mohammed yes
Amin Mohammed
Amin Mohammed - 8 years ago
Thats really helpful .so the substrate is enough with ada soil right ?
Aquatrendz
Aquatrendz - 8 years ago
Co2 will be obtained from atmosphere. If you use a fertile soil like ADA amazonia or controsoil you don't have to dose anything extra. Also this is only a temporary emmersed setup and we will be flooding the tank within a month.

will this work with fine sand as a substrate?
Aquatrendz
Aquatrendz - 8 years ago
Generally sand is not a good option for these plants. go for something like ADA. If at all you have to use sand, pick out those with particle size of 3 mm. You will have to fertilise the plants additionally.

Nice video! I'm going to get mine this Saturday. My tank is already live with guppies, shrimps and large plants. Is that a problem? Also please tell me the soundtrack you used..
pradeep kumar
pradeep kumar - 8 years ago
That's not a problem. Just remove the Fishes. lower the water level and plant it. After filling You can wait till the water clears a bit before adding the Fishes back. Make sure you retain your old filter with the original media.
