If you're ever in Arizona you need to drop by Wildlife World Zoo. They have a pretty good aquarium with lots of full grown versions of the classic tank buster fish. The zoo part is really great. They get you pretty close to the animals and you can feed the giraffes. :)

I've been keeping fish since i was 5 as well as a fisherman since about that time. You could say i have a lot of respect for nature and its beauty by now 20 years later. Glad you got a chance to experience Sea Life Aquarium. We went when it first open, though have not been in awhile. The Rainforest Café is nice as well and actually one of the reasons I purchased a Orange Spotted Rabbitfish, since I fell in love with theirs.

I was at the Ripley Aquarium in Myrtle Beach, SC and there was a touch tank with an eagle ray. He really got comfortable with me, the way I was rubbing his wings. He kept coming back for more. Sadly they get to big for home aquariums; 10 ft, or I would get one. Another creature you never hear about, that is awesome is the angel shark. It's like a giant, killer flounder, 10 feet as well.

Saw the Lion fish in one of your shots, reminded me of a show I saw on cable where these fish are a world wide threat. Some parts of the world are trying there best to kill all they find to eradicate them. They are horrible for the environment. Use to have one in my aquarium too !

I actually live right by the aquarium but have yet to go so it was neat to see a sneak peak of the fish there! Also Rain Forest Cafe is a great themed restaurant with excellent food. They have animatronic animals who make noises, fake rainstorms, an area to look up at fake stars, and three aquariums with things like unicorn tangs and puffers in them. Kids love it so if you ever bring them down here I would defiantly hit that up.

Next time you are in Detroit you should check out Belle Isle aquarium. Its the oldest aquarium in the US. They have some really cool freshwater species.

That place in the beginning was rainforest cafe which if you ever get the chance, I would totally recommend going to visit it. Their restaurant area is made to look like a rainforest and every ten minutes or so they have a thunderstorm. They have some massive tanks (and I'm happy that one still has their tanks, the one in my area removed the tanks and then left completely)

I would recommend getting a volcano if you ever do go there, it is worth it!

Madilyn Bauknecht Your set up sounds good and 5 seems like a good number for a 65 gal. Fancy goldfish are pretty easy to look after im sure you'll have no issues. :)

Madilyn Bauknecht you can certainly use the heater, but it's probably unnecessary. You may find the fish are happier with it or vice versa. Contrary to popular belief, goldfish are not cold water fish, they are temperate fish meaning they can adapt to both cold water and tropical conditions. Individual fish may show a preference depending upon where they were raised, so as you've already got the heater, my advice would be to try it.

I already have the filter I used to have a 75 gal we sold and it won't fit in my room (where my 65 gal is going) and I have heater filter (it's an really good Canister filter and I don't have any other tanks right now and don't really wanna waste the heater would it be ok with the heater if they won't be okay with the heater I won't use it thanks

Jack smith and I already have a heater and I am hoping for ryukin tank I've read a lot and heard there one of the best ones to start with is that true I've had saltwater before and am going to cycle it (it's a must)

Madilyn Bauknecht My advice for fancy goldfish is a 30 gallon (or bigger) for 2 but if you want more fish go for a bigger tank. Dont just get one, they like company. Canister filters are very good for goldfish, id reccomed an eheim classic 250, but canister filters can be expensive. Goldfish like alot of oxygen in their water so get an airpump. and you dont need a heater. Oh and avoid celestial eye and pearscale goldfish. I have this set up and my goldfish are 13 years old.

Heaters are not necessary in a goldfish tank. ... Slim-bodied goldfish can tolerate low temperatures just above freezing; however, some fancy goldfish cannot tolerate water temperatures lower than around 55 degrees F. So, unless you want your tank at a constant temperature, goldfish don't need a heater - google search

yeah i reconsidered about goldfish once i allowed the plants and water to cycle...
and added the fact i scrounged up my old powerhead, the water was too fast flowing for any goldfish... i wanted comets coz they are fast swimmers. but digging deeper, goldfish are carps... and carps grow way too big for my taste...

oh well, the molly doing its job of semi-threatening the tetras... making them school

considering goldfish can get big enough to eat neons I wouldn't recommend mixing them.I would say all the breeds you commonly find would be a good pick it just depends on what you like.

my personal favorite has to be broadtail ryukins.

I call him big red, the biggest red male

they attack each other species.
I been adding more plants to allow the passive ones to hide.
but propagating them takes a while.
