Completed DIY raised timber and liner construction koi pond with 1 year old show quality fish all from recycled timber. More information at http://www.diykoipond.com. The fish were added today and were filmed to show you how the completed pond looks. The video is set to a great musical treat. Sit back, relax and watch the pond come alive. The video mainly highlights the show quality fish however a DIY biological filter and settlement tank were also used to keep the fish pond water crystal clear. (see the previous DIY videos at http://www.diykoipond.com to see how they were made). Native ferns edge the pond and aquatic plants have also been used as natural vegetable biological filters that in a few months will thrive to create a beautiful water garden feature for the back yard. The fish are 5-15cm but will all grow pretty quick. The pond is 5m long x 2m wide x 1m deep and about 3000 litres in all. Beautiful pond. You did a brilliant job. Bit confused by your pond calculations that you mentioned in your video information. You say the pond is 5m long x 2m wide x 1m deep (16ft x 6ft x 3ft) and about 3000 litres, but (going by the sizes you provided) it actually works out to be approximately 10'000 litres or 2200 gallons? Anyway, it's a beautiful pond and certainly among the nicest I've seen on Youtube. Well done.

Hi there. it looks awesome. in your other video, you had only one bucket for the filter. Did you add another bucket to your filtering system? Whats in the 2nd bucket?

very nice. just started a 300 gallon koi pond and used your Bio filter setup. works great. looks like you won't have enough space for all that koi once they grow to full size. but hey, that just means we'll see another vid of u making another pond. haha. greetings from Kauai,Hawaii.

The fish will outgrow this pond very rapidly. It is very shallow, making it subject to temperature changes. It is better suited for goldfish.
