Not to mention a bunch of other information they left out that's very important. If you are looking for a good guide of how to keep a Betta, please reference a few other videos.

This whole process can take anywhere from 2 Weeks to 6 Weeks. Patience is key when owning fish; it's not as simple as you think.
Don't mean to be a rant, But, I have a few problems with this video.
Keep in mind, a lot of information in this video makes sense like the heating and lighting.
1st, The 4 Gallon. The "Betta water" is NOT necessary and you would be fine with just tap water and conditioner.
Also Betta fish CAN live in 1 gallon tanks and be happy. The freshwater community thinks it's there "duty" producing false information. As long as you got a cycled tank, and a filter, your fine.
2nd, Gravel is fine to cycle your tank but will take around a month wait to add fish. And the Decorations "it looks real"...
Don't go with artificial decorations, Real driftwood is extremely healthy for freshwater tanks. It is worth paying the small $5-$10 more. The Colony they advertise is bacteria your tank needs to cycle waist, it is a myth that this can be done "instantly". It takes time for it to build up, a month without bacteria, and 2 weeks with the bacteria. Still a necessary buy if you want to add fish immediately. Just test your ammonia and if it looks bad, do a water change. Repeat till the water is at a constant 0ppm and you will be fine.
3rd, The 37 Gallon Saltwater.. This is the hard side of the hobby and is no easy chore. They surprised me with this one.
Live sand and Live Rock is VERY good for cycling an aquarium. Live Sand isn't 100% necessary, but I buy it myself because
I personally really like the feel of it. (Dead sand will become live sand in a few weeks) Live Rock is really good! Thanks for
advertising this PetCo, people really do need this. Then we get to the canister... Unless you are going to clean it everyday,
the canister will become a Nitrate factory. Eventually leading to the death of your fish. Keep in mind, live sand and live rock
will be perfectly fine bio filtering your tank, just as long as you do a 20% water change a week. The best and only real way to
filter your aquarium is to buy a sump and buy RO/DI (really clean) water from your fish store or buying a system online.
Saltwater Aquariums can be very expensive and there is no way around it. And the steps to making one is no 1,2,3.
*This wasn't in the video, But I noticed a yellow tang in a 37 tank. Yellow tangs need 100-120 Gallons MINIMUM.
That poor fish probably wants to kill itself. And it will if your tank does't have a hood. :(
ALL< The fish in these takes will not last long. They over simplified the hobby and missed a lot of important details.
Please take your time to research your fish, and good luck!
I suggest bigger but not everyone ca do bigger .
2.5 can have a good healthy cycled bacteria . A one gallon cannot !!! No good bacteria can thrive in a one gallon

1. Cycle your tank. You need real plants. If you don't want to wait, add Colony like it says in the video.
2. Water change 20% every 2 weeks.
3. Make a hiding place.
4. Feed him/her will and don't place 2 in the same tank.
5. Make sure your tank isn't to big, betta fish prefer smaller tanks.
(1-5gal is perfect) This is the biggest debate about Betta fish and most
people who claim 1 gallon is bad, with good filtration, its the best.
6. Use the least chemicals you can.
Follow these steps and your betta will live a ridiculously long time.
:( poor fish
People who are saying 1 gallon is killing their bettas, usually have no bio filters, never change water (100% every other day as it's to small to establish a cycle), and give there fish MINIMAL attention. It would be hard keeping a betta in 1 gallon, but it's possible and the betta would be fine.
For anyone looking to setup a healthy long term marine tank, it's not a good idea to listen to 90% of what you just heard. There are some great authors like Julian Sprung among others who have demystified marine tanks, bringing the knowledge of the ultimate hobby to the forefront of knowledge. Don't be fooled by these TV personalities, because for them...telling people that tanks take a long time to mature and become stable would be couter-productive to their episode making machine of a company who specializes in short term quick setups that are sure to be money pits and death traps for the unlucky animals.
read the manual and said it was fully water proofand then got blamed by the local fish shop. also since ive been there ive ignored evryone of their rules with how long you should transistion a fish to a new tank. did what they said firts time lost 12 fish did what i did when i was 8 - 40 mins to an hour and all 18 tropcile fish lived
But I have seem them use it a lot. Maybe give it a go and see what happens??
To anyone interested in getting into the fish keeping hobby, join a fishkeeping forum. Ask questions there. These videos are all well and good, but it is important to get advice from people who are not trying to make money from you.
