The kessil A360 is perfect for softies. The power you set it at will depend on the height you mount it.

Drain some of the water into a white bucket. Is it greenish? You are likely just seeing phytoplankton and just need to add or wait on enough filter feeders to grow to get ahead of it. At some point you will actually be adding it to the system. Also, don't drain your detritus into the filter socks. Drain to a bucket and get rid of it completely. Especially if you are running mesh bags. :)

Yup, nothing to worry about. Just get some filter feeders in there and maybe introduce a couple of copepod species.

Thanks. I was thinking it may be phyto. I'll check it with a bucket. When I had my "algae disaster" most of that was phyto. The water was super green. It may be just some coming back. Perhaps I just need to start a rotifer farm.

Clean the skimmer more often, It's dirty AF, do more 35% water changes, and change and replace the carbon with new carbon media.

Cloudiness is most likely a bacterial bloom besides the rock in the tank, do you have biological media like any matrix or marine pure blocks in your sump?

Looks good. One critique, your 2 nets and scraper are touching. If your quarantine net could transfer nasty over to your clean net via your scraper.

I would be careful to jump to conclusions to fast about the cloudiness, and then start adding stuff. My tank looks like that if I mess around in the sump or with the carbon bag. But it normally clears in a few hours.

This looks like bacteria bloom. I didn't have this issue since I dosed a whole bottle of nitrifying bacterias from Dr. Tim at the beginning of my cycle.

Cloudiness looks as if you recently added sand. Whatever it is, it'll likely pass. Equipment looks neat, check out "cord raceways" on Amazon.

I agree with not running two part. Personally how I would start is to try and keep alk low. Around 7.5-8.0 and calcium anywhere under 500. Manually dose once or twice a week and do water changes weekly for the first couple months. After that you can start figuring out your specific tank needs and possibly put the doser back online.

Agree. Don't go chasing numbers or cures for small issues. Looks to be a bacterial bloom. I am sure that uncured rock has something to do with it. In time, with less waste tissue leaching from rock and more filter feeders, this issue will reside by itself. You can try using some more carbon (easiest way would be in one of the filter bags and change out often. Also, I saw you were already doing 2-part. Your bio-load of Alk/Ca users looks pretty small. Are you sure you are not seeing precipitation? I went quite a while (doing weekly 10% water changes) with new tank before I started needing 2-part to keep things day-to-day stable. Just my 2 cents.

I would leave it for a while personally. Your tank is brand new, if you constantly chase minor issues you be constantly chasing issues and postponing your tank from naturally equalizing.
