+Chris Coppola you have to cycle your tank, when you set your tank,the first three days the water will be clear,but not crystal clear,don't put fish,don't do nothing about it,then at the 3rd day or 5th day,the water will get cloudy greenish or milky color..don't do nothing ,don't put any chemical like those bottls that says "bacteria or quick cycling tank to avoid new tank syndrome,they don't work.....,it will stay like that for 5 or 6 weeks,after all that time the water will star getting clear, and when the water is crystal clear it is safe to put fish,I recommend you to plant natural plants inside and create like caves for your fish,good luck with your tank

Well, if you are stressed, then most probably you worry about the fish, and for their well-being. So, why not to wait for two weeks, to let the tank settle down and stabilize a bit?

ok thanks some one else said that to me as well about not using the uv but I am going to get my water checked out tomorrow at the fish shop and the guy in the shop really knows his stuff too. He has ten tanks in is house. To be honest Im getting so much different advice from different people my head is stressed as I don't want to kill the fish. I suppose I am a little bit frustrated too cause I want fish yesterday. Anyhoo thanks for all the advice you obviously know your stuff. Im going for cold water fish I live in Ireland. lol

I'd stop using UV filter. In such a new aquarium all microorganisms are very important, and you kill them with UV light. Let the aquarium stand for a week or two, let the Nature do its job. Fishkeeping needs time and patience, you'll get nowhere with speeding things up. Milky water in new aquariums is a normal thing, nothing to worry about. And don't expect that your tank will look amazing just few days after setting it up, especially if you are new to the hobby.

Well I have a 78 litre tank I only got it last week I don't even have any fish yet. I go meself a uv filter and that seems to have done the trick. I am going to keep cold water fish. I just find it relaxing.

Starting an aquarium exhibition is fairly easy :) First, you need some people who want to do it. 3-4 persons will be absolutely enough for a small show (like 10-20 tanks). Then start looking for a sponsor - a company who would like to provide you with tanks and equipment. Sometimes companies "borrow" all this stuff, and this is the best option - you return everything after the show. You also need to find a location - ZOOs, shopping centers etc. are a good choice. Ask me if you have more qstns :)

Hey I am from the US & I have gotten into this hobby maybe 2yrs ago. I absolutely love it& it makes me very sad how we seem to be 1 of the only countries who really has not caught on to this trend! I'm hoping to be one of the first breeders of all freshwater shrimp variety's&FW Scaper when this AMAZING hobby catches on! I am currently working on my website &starting a 3rd tank. I was wondering how to go about starting show like this 2 hopefully maybe speed the process of this hobby?

Mate, it's not a good idea to write comment like that - it's pretty clear that you didn't watch the video at all, yet you are complementing something only to make some people watch your videos. Please stop doing that, it's regarded as spamming. I'd concentrate on making better videos, because then people will come and see your stuff without any asking them for coming. Ha, rzeczywiście, nie zwróciłem na to uwagi :) Nie mam pojęcia czy to będzie standard czy nie, nie rozmawiałem z nimi o tym - ale wg mnie lepiej to wygląda niż jak jest czarny silikon. Jakby tak jeszcze z przezroczystego plastiku zrobili nóżki i podpórki pod szybę nakrywową, to mogłoby to całkiem ciekawie wyglądać... :)
