I would go broke w/rocks & sprinkler 65wx350lx7-10' the problem is I am on 13 which 5 cleared & 8 wooded w/stream.In 08' I bought it & they had put tires, trash etc.& buried it to chock out the spring so they could make it a RV Park.I seen a Windmill that was supposed to power things what do you all recommend? From house to the pond is ~700ft away a lot of money to have a sprinkler for looks when it has it's own filter and heater 65 all the time. How fast do Koi grow?I might be giving them away

Meek and TPH ... you can also find old cinder block and also hook up with local Tile Place I call it "FREE" others call it dumpster diving. You till be surprize how pretty the broken granite and marble in the water and it helps with a bio bed. You customers can put Cray Fish in with Koi (make sure they have stuff to eat on the bottom) but you can get white, blue, orange, red and then the plain Cray's they are neat in a tank!

No problem and also I didn't think about this until here lately not sure were you are but in Mobile,AL Ivy, Cinnamon Ferns and the Common Fern will also grow on it and it so easy to control just pull or cut

Hey Meek, pix would be great! I love seeing DIY projects. A project like this and many others I will put my name on in the name of my customers! I am not really in any type of position to turn down work because of what "I" like to see. My taste would probably not fit most of my customers budgets, so I will definitely create designs based on what the customer likes!! If they are happy, I am happy.

Hey Meek, thanks for commenting. Sometimes I am surprised at what type of rock work styles our customers ask for us to do, but hey, as long as they are happy and you are laughing, it works for me. How'd you come up with 90% figure? Post a photo of your pond, I'd love to see it!

One thing that you can use to help grow moss on rocks is Butter Milk. Just add dirt and buttermilk to get that ole weathered look and a tiny piece of moss will help get it started. It works really well along the gulf coast!

pond is fantastic all the rock and the moss rock set it off perfect look's natural. The water fall curtain is the most spectacular waterfall feature to that pond well done.

I see that very often. Overstocking and overfeeding are two common issues, that often lead to bigger problems.

One of the most common backyard ponds problems is overstocking of fish.

Hey Gifted, thanks for the comment. This video was shot before plants started growing back in to any real size. We are in the northeast so about this time of year (July) the plants really start looking good. I do not recommend floating plants for installations that have skimmers, the floaters tend to overwhelm the skimming system and cause maintenance issues. I like to keep it low maintenance for my customers, on other types of water features I love the floaters, just not w/ skimmers!
