awesome design & construction. *side note*... to avoid compromising the integrity of your homes foundation, any in-ground water feature, including pools, should be placed no less than 1' (one foot) for every 1' (one foot) of depth AWAY from an existing structure foundation. The weight of the home could collapse the pond/pool wall and in turn collapse all or part of the structure.

thank you! we have since turned the pond into concrete. the pond is 4' deep. and it's 6' away from the foundation of the house.

Pretty deep hole next to the homes foundation, especially since the ground will freeze and thaw. Hope you don't have any shifting foundation problems.

No, I'm just the maintenance man for those 4 apartment buildings. YouTube gave me The Landlord name. I thought I might want to own an apartment building so I started doing maintenance to learnas I worked for someone else. After a few years, I decided, I don't want to be a landlord! LOL! Those places get trashed pretty bad! I have another channel with my "tenants" there. I made them get their own channel. LOL! They are a bunch of goof balls! :)

good work so far, but seems like you have a cold winter, so if you can, please dig deeper. ( the water will benefit from groundheat in the deep parts at winter time.
do you self a favior.. make the bottom sloaped towards a bottomdrain.. really.. get a bottomdrain.. Ill say it once more bottomdrain is something you will be happy about once done.. makes you work around the pond much much easier..
I had both a small pond withour drains, its a pain.. now I digged a large pond with two bottomdrains.. much much better.
Then.. honestly, get a trickle filter, or DIY one, they are awesome, but mainly for bio-filter, you will still need a mechanical filtersystem.

you can see my pond in my videos.. notice how sloaped I made the bottom towards the two drains.. I have NO dirt at all at the bottom, in the old pond I used to vacum once a week to get fallout out of the pond. !
