Thats a prette small pond.. considering how big a pool that could have been used !!
Having Koi just dont seem to be right.. might be small goldfish or other small fish would be better..

I have one of the vinyl pools that I want to make into a pond. I have it all ready. has been set up for couple months now. every time I put gold fish in it they are dead the next day. I took the water to pet store and they said it checked out ok and they can't understand why the fish keep dieing. I tried 3 different times waiting a couple weeks each time to put the fish in. can you help me? huggggggggggs

+bruce furney I could be diffrent chemicals that kills the fish.. and maybe the fishstore´s test sets do not spot it, but just the usual factores..
- I would think there is some sort of poison / chemical in the water.

Have you been using Round Up or others around the pond ?

do you worry about heavy rains filling up the pool underneath .My uncle worked at Flemington Farms for a long time and it is really a beautiful area .I do love what you did here .They need a bench to sit and reflect .I will have to visit it this summer when I go up to NJ

Hey Sissy! Yes, that was a concern when taking on the project. There is drainage installed underneath the entire project so the concrete pool area cannot hold water nay longer. If you visit the garden there is a bench there now. It will look alot different now that the project is about 4 years old and nicely grown in! Hope you like it and let me know!

This was stupid. I think less than a minute of this 10-minute "How To Build a Water Garden Pond from a Swimming Pool" actually deals with the "how to" part, there's little discussion of "how to," and it's not wasn't really even a pool because it's been filled in.

@TheLeftylegend14 Hey Lefty, I use a construction foam, triple expanding to help control water flow and stabilize some of the rocks.

@cacaboy900 Hey Caca, that is called EPDM, it is usually sold by the square foot anywhere from $0.80 to $1.00 depending on quality and who is selling it.
