Hi, and thank you. It was hard work and I found that I'm not as young as I thought I was lol. It was well worth it in the end. Terry.

Hi, This depends, all ponds are different. Some have noticed in the first 24 hours and some have taken over a week. Terry.

Hi Terry

Looking good and progressing nicely.

Interested to know if you re lined the paddling pools, if not, how did the fish do? Interested to know as I am thinking of emptying mine to give it a deep clean so I will need a cheap holding tank.

Looking forward to you next update.

Regards Kevin
Wrighty
Wrighty - 8 years ago
Hi Kevin, Thank you. No, I didn't reline the pool. Someone told me they had there fish in exactly the same pool for 3 years so I didn't bother. The fish don't seem to have bothered at all. They never stopped feeding and they've spawned while they've been in there. So I'm quite impressed as it was only just over £100. and well made. Terry.

Hi, Thank you. The rain has set me back at least 2 weeks and keeps setting me back. I'm ready to start the brick work but have been waiting a week for the bricks to be delivered. I seem to be getting hold up after hold up. Most of the plumbing's done,  I will get the next video out asap. Thanks, Terry.

Are you going to use the pre-filter in this build?

PS: Finished installing it this weekend, works like a champ!
Wrighty
Wrighty - 8 years ago
Hi, I won't be using it for a start as I have to re-pipe and I'm not sure where I'm going to put it as my filter is now in a shed, but I do want to get it in there somewhere. Terry.

thank you for replying the filter box I have is part bushes and part k1 its half wet and half dri filter system k1 obviously to gro bactera and the bush side is for collecting the crap I have a ultra violet pro clear 55 watt uv system on my pond was going really well 3 months ago crystal clear warter and no algea these last few months ive had nuthing but trouble at this point I carnt even see my fish which is really bad and still have algea growth im trying to keep on top off it but its getting really bad mainly the water algea is going now but my water is going really green like pea soup im going out tommorow and im gunna buy a new bulb so hopefully the water will start cumming back to crystal as it was do u use algea treatment every year to keep on top off it my frend bought some cloverleaf its killed all the algea but also killed some off his if especially the goldenhalf is u have any suggestions plzz leave me a message I really do think my uv has packed up the bulb so I will keep u updated on my pond thanks again happy ponding love that saying my girl laughs everytime u say that thnx

Hi, Thank you. I must tell you it's a long way from looking good at the moment lol. It just looks like we've had an explosion in the garden. Trenches and piles of dirt everywhere lol. I will get the next one uploaded as soon as I have 15 minutes of video. Thanks again, Terry & Happy Ponding.

+Wrighty thanks again terry really helpful I will keep u upto date) when are u uploading part to off your build carnt wait to see it looking really good learnt alot from u keep up them videos
Wrighty
Wrighty - 8 years ago
Hi, Yes I use Cloverleaf and have never had a problem. The cloverleaf won't harm your fish or your filter. It's really well worth the money. I was going to suggest checking the bulb on your UV. If you have green water it's not working. Also keep it running 24/7. I do think the UV is the problem. Let me know how you get on. Terry & Happy Ponding.

Hi, Thank you. I'm not sure what I'm going to end up with now as I've hit the water sock at 3f 6 inches. I will be building a wall and raise the water level which should give me around 4ft in the deep end. I will work it out and put it in my next video. Terry.

welcome back Terry Glad to see you got a good start on your pond there we visit friends Manchester and it rains almost every day if not everyday. I am all most done with my build all 3 drums in place and plumed with media. When doing the air line why did you use pex and not just regular pvc? can't wait to see the your next video these things are addicting to watch
Wrighty
Wrighty - 8 years ago
Thanks Dale, I'm now digging the trenches for the plumbing, so I'm still digging lol. I used the push fit fittings on the air line because I thought it would be easier for people building the system. You can use what you like m8. Take care, Terry.

This really reminds me of my build last year. Did you get the idea for a raised one from mine ;) ;P Looking back on my project, I wish I had put two BD's in. I feel for you with all of that digging. It's back breaking. I removed 56 tonne of soil from mine and that's not including the filter bay.

If you fancy a look at mine, I have lots of photos I could fire over to you. It might give you some ideas. If not theres always my very amateurish YouTube Channel. Look for: Mythril1976

Keep up the good work and always remember, a cup of tea fixes all problems :)

Hi, I've only taken about half of that in soil out, but that was enough for me on my own, especially as I have to barrow it around to the front of the house. Mind you it's keeping me fit lol. I will have a look at your channel. Thanks, Terry.

Looks like it's going to be a great pond , how deep is it going to be ?
Wrighty
Wrighty - 8 years ago
Hi, Thanks, I was hoping for 4 ft plus but we've hit the sock level so can't go any deeper. It should end up just under 4 ft. Terry.

Looks excellent my friend . I will be patiently waiting for the rest of the videos hahaha. Very nice neat and precise. So from the looks of it your bottom drain will be pump fed and not gravity fed ?

Bottom Drain fed to pump then to filters ?
Wrighty
Wrighty - 8 years ago
Hi Jim, I will be drawing from the bottom drain in the summer and from a higher outlet in the winter and then pumping to the filters. Thanks, Terry.

Glad to see you have settled in and getting down to the nitty gritty, Terry.  A nice size build for that small yard of yours. I'll trade you this blistering heat we're having for some of that rain you're getting.
Wrighty
Wrighty - 8 years ago
Hi Harry, Thank you,  That's the problem, we never seam to get average weather lol. It's either all sun or all rain. All the pond is dug out now, it's just the plumbing and brickwork.. Thanks, Terry.
