with the fact that the zoo would be expected to have multiple ponds and tanks needing to be drained and cleaned and refilled from time to time. why the fuck don't they have their own drainage system tied into that canal instead of being a pain in the ass to the neighbors every time.

Boo hoo!!

We have a "penguin encounter" here in our local fish wildlife prison known as SeaWorld. When you first enter the exhibit, the stench and cacophony of penguin calls overtake you. For the most part the animals just stand there. Some are continuously diving in the water and as quickly exit. Others just pace back and forth in what seems nothing less than narcotized despair.
That was at least 12 years ago. Haven't been back since.
