RAWWFishing if you want to tame the lizard you have to pet it's back or head (decides by its size) cause I went to Florida and I caught lizards and I petted it's back then the thing under it's chin went up and it's mouth closed meaning that it trusted you,hopefully you tame the lizard

So in Puerto Rico there are a lot of them. You know of the animal fight or flight instinct? Its actually fight, flight or freeze instinct. And its in the freeze stage that they turn dark. When they are very stressed.

Iguanas only turn dark/black when they are under a lot of stress (stress that might eventually kill them, reptiles don't coop with stress very well, trust me). Iguanas do not change color like chameleons, so no it didn't change from color to match his surroundings, dumbdumb. Educate yourself a bit about these animals before you leave an ignorant comment, please. It will save you from a lot of rightful bashing. It's all cool that you try to catch one, it's a fun hunt I must admit, but it's not cool that you're catching them and treating them like they are some sort of garbage and waving and shaking them around like you did. Treat them with the respect they deserve. PERIOD.

Ps: good luck with your broken wrist. Dare I say that the iguanas got their revenge? GRIN

John GCA its not exactly exotic no different then on survival shows people catch and eat those little lizards and these iguanas are invasive and hurt the ecosystem they taste just like yummy chicken if there were only a few thousand here in Miami where I live and tons of iguanas with all these great guys then it would be exotic but you see them almost everywhere you go running around eating smaller animals which isn't fair because the smaller animals were here first and iguanas are here because a reptile facility was destroyed during a hurricane a long time ago and around 2,000 iguanas were released and now they've grown into about 90 to 150,000 we need to kill them and eat them and all around get them out of Florida as they don't belong here naturally
