I can tell you don't keep reptiles lol.make the sides lower and put a mesh lid on it and make it at least 2x the size of what it is.tortoises need alot of room and make it more interesting for him by putting stuff to climb over like rocks ect and put a water dish in

Tortoises need water and a lot more space, you should put a pond in there and more hiding spots, they need to be able to choose if they want to stay in the sun or not and the shadow that the enclosure provides wont be enough when he/she grow up. Keep us updated!

the walls only need to be a couple of feet high. you can cut the walls down and add them to the end to give him more room to move. he needs a hide and water bowl. you can screen the top in then nothing can get inside. It's way to small as it stands in this video. and keep in mind he will get huge he will need your whole backyard when full grown.

They shoudn't go outside until their 10 inches because of raccon's and birds. If you want him to get sunlight I would advise a UV light in a 20 gallon tank with a small helmet from a darth vadar costume for a dark hiding place.

a suggestion why not make a enclosure 6'x 6'x 3' ft out of 3 or 4" pvc and mesh with a hatch on top so you can see him he will get fresh air and you can move the enclosure to a fresh grazing spot each week

That's a really bad cage like the sides need to have chicken wire so he can see out and it needs to be a lot bigger, some people wont agree and they might say it's big enough but tortoises need a lot a lot a lot lot of room like your whole back yard but of course you can't make it your whole backyard lol.I raise tortoises and I have lots of experience if you need any tips jut ask me Also are you planning on keeping him until he grow up big? If so it will have to be your whole backyard some day :-D

It is so HARD to realize how small they are when they first hatch. My Sulcata, Jeff, is a freaking TANK. She makes a habit of wrecking every plant I hold dear, even the ones 4 ft off the ground. She legit will try to knock them off their table. I had to build a literal FORTRESS around the watermelon patch and she still gets in! You're lucky this lil baby is a lil baby. LOL XD

The tortoise “cage” is not how to set it up the proper way because what about birds plus raccoons are excellent climbers. You should of made it lower and longer but with chicken wire maybe instead of the plywood and a shade spot because too much heat especially in Florida’s sun can harm a tortoise in many ways especially because it is still young and developing so yeah that is my opinion
