I doubt they test their thermometers. Those thermometers are testy. They get out of whack all the time. Before you use the thermometers or at least once a day you need to recalibrate it. A cup of ice cold water, full of ice is around 32 degrees Fahrenheit, so it is easy to recalibrate it that way
