I know I'm late but....

Sunfish and Bluegill we need a 55g+ when they reach full grown. They can get 10-12inches and are very territorial. A 10g is too small and I suggest getting a 75g at least for 2 sunfish/bluegill. Unless you get the smaller special of sunfish which is, banded sunfish, spotted sunfish, dollar sunfish or pygmy sunfish.

all of you going on and on about the tank size must of missed where he said that 10gal is just for now and he plans to get bigger. for two 2in fish that 10 gallon will be just fine for a bit. also those are sunfish they do just fine in 65-85 degree water so unless he keeps his house bellow 65 no heater is necessary, room temp is fine. true he should've washed the decor but we all learn by trial and error. also since it'll take time for them to accept flake or pellet food hes actually correct in having some worms to feed them. according to the freshwater aquariums for dummies i bought back when i was 8 and my other aquarium books hes doing everything just fine for a beginner aquarist.

I worked at a bait shop (Dakota Angler in Sioux Falls) in HS and the best part was sorting the minnows. Random tiny game fish would always come up in the 'large filter'. We would put these in an aquarium on the counter. There were perch, sunfish, bluegill. It was always fun to drop in a full blown crawler and watch them tug-o-war over it. Flair, you need to do a walleye video in South Dakota!!

Please do your research first about the species. This is why captive bred small fish from pet stores are kept cause you can replicate the right water conditions. A pond/lake fish belongs in their natural environment. Please protect our ecosystems which is far more important than views. You may not think it’s bad if only you do it but many others are influenced by you on this platform and do the same.

Well it isn’t possible to keep these kind of fish that grow and need 100s of gallons of water to replicate a pond/lake anyways and they need the right pH/ water salinity that is near impossible to replicate that’s why nobody keeps wild fish from big ecosystems.
