RAWWFishing I have a few fish tanks if you want the best for the fish get aquaclear 50 or bigger runs a bit expensive but never change sponge or bio rings never use carbon it's used mostly for mess or for that filter use aquaclear sponges supper cheap and but some bio rings in there and you have the best mechanical filtration also if you want to see where I got the idea from go over to Aquarium Coop trust me he knows his stuff

Ethan Fallon I used to feed my pacu a mix of unsalted almonds which you can buy wholes sale for cheap, cucumber slices and carnivore pellets. This diet is pretty cheap and he could very easily feed them a ton more with this diet. Mine grew to 8 inches in 2 and a half months.

I couldn't agree more. The pet store recommended different in one of his vids but he insisted on just getting bloodworms. No fish can live healthy on just bloodworms. They need variety and good water quality. His pacu should be atleast double their size at this point.

I'm also curious as to why you aren't considering putting the gar into the big pond once he's bigger and instead are planning on transferring him to one of your friends houses. And also it seems that he would be going into a tank setup as well if going to a friend's house that already seems to have plenty of fish occupying them. I'm really curious as to why you would do that? us as viewers who have been watching this fish grow don't want to see it be given away because it got large or whatever the reason. That's what the large pond was for was to own larger species and see bass feedings. I like koi don't get me wrong but I thought your goal had been to get the red tails, hybrids and gar large enough to live in the big pond?

U lost your beneficial bacteria you should put the other filter cartridges back in until they get dirty then change them because the new ones have no beneficial bacteria so your tank it’s not cycled anymore

just a few comments,
1. you should always rinse out new filters before using them
2. Filters are in the wrong way. Blue should be facing backwards to catch debris
3. you shouldn't really do 100% water changes unless absolutely necessary, even 50 % isn't that good to do. Kills beneficial bacteria.
4. When doing 100% water Changes or initial tank setups even if you add in prime and water conditioner, the water should be filtered for atleast a day but generally 3 days before introducing fish into it.
5. And always acclimate your fish before putting them in a new environment

tristan vilardo you are right on that because the larger the volume of water, the longer it needs to be completely filtered but I figured that at the VERY LEAST, it should be a few days. Again at the very least. It truly surprises me that these fish are doing as well as they are because they are constantly stressed out due to all this and some have an inadequate diet and inadequate space.

Yes, I am a bloody lemon Gerard He could be a great fish keeper too and has potential but it's starting to seem like he is just riding on the fact he has a large pool pond, which a few people have now and lots of fish. And just keeps getting more to make videos but there's more to making videos than to just keep buying fish especially after you keep losing fish to various reasons. he needs to start doing more research on the art of keeping fish rather than think as long as you feed them they'll be ok.

Taylor lee I know I've actually commented this more than a few times over the course of his videos. subbed, unsubbed and then resubbed because he seemed to start learning more but now I'm just really smh as so many people are trying to help him and point this out to educate him but he's ignoring it all, atleast it seems that way to myself. This was why Zak repoed the Koi and stopped talking to him as well. I really hope he takes his viewers more seriously and starts to research our suggestions as he could be a great fish keeper and has a lot of potential and I do enjoy watching him but I'm losing hope. I'm hoping he learns more and proper techniques for raising fish so he doesn't lose anymore as well. My other pet peeves is that something simple like him incorrectly labeling his fish is another thing that shows his disregard to learn. he calls Kohaku koi a platinum kohaku while it's really just a Doitsu Kohaku. Simple things like that show a great deal about people.

It just seems, to many viewers lately, that he doesn't care to learn or listen to what more knowledgeable people have to say or offer which makes it seem like he doesn't truly care about the fish or their well being, what his viewers have to say or care about us, and is just honestly making videos just to make videos and make money doing it. Colton Yelverton no one is knocking him for trying to learn, it's when he ignores constant comments trying to help him learn and point out obvious blunders that are what people such as myself are upset with. Learning then trying and making mistakes is all part of the process but when you just do and disregard multitudes of viewers, friends and knowledgeable people and then fail and then not learn from your mistakes and THEN say you know what you are doing and tell people that you are knowledgeable and care about your fish is just not right. People constantly point out mistakes to try to help him learn and grow as a fish keeper and he disregards those that have researched and learned and learned from mistakes just makes someone look really bad. Like I said, something as simple as mislabeled your fishes species ( keeps calling his Kohaku Doitsu koi a platinum kohaku, when many, such as myself have explained it's incorrect but ignoring that and then TRYING to tell those trying to teach that they are wrong just makes him appear ignorant) He appears not to care to research anything or learn correct ways and instead just does what he wants is why he will lose fish and/ or have fish that will suffer in different ways.

You don't go by what the box says, they just want you to muy more, those cartridges should have been way dirtier, and just a tip, invest in a tetra ex 70 filter for that tank and place the filter in middle or put a wave maker on opposite side of the filter you have to the water flows tword it. And if you do annual 25 percent water changes it would be way easier

You need to wash off the new filters before putting it it because there is lots of lose carbon from the filter that will come off into the water and potentially harm your fish.

Always feed a variety of pellets, frozen foods, freeze dried foods, and fresh cut tiliapia. do not overfeed and also have pristine water quality. That applies for all fish.
