Kin You can't just run on tracks to save a probable dead monkey (from the look of it, that monkey was as good as dead, he's lucky that he still survived after getting electrocuted) and meddle with these animals, you do realize that monkeys are one of the biggest carriers of rabies virus in India, messing with these animals will more or less cause you more harm than good

It much more complex than that though isn't it. Years from now we will be able to connect our physical brain to computers, and interfaces. Years after we will be able to map the entire human brain, upload our actual brains information to the connect-dome, maybe even replicate conscious life as we know it. After all all life and the entire universe is information, codes and math. Would those A.I machines be considered animals? How do we know we are not created the same way. Just as our technology and A.I evolves in time, so did we. Is a biological computer considered animal? Maybe it is i don't know i'm just asking. We are a biological computer and it's hard to believe we are just written code and informatioin. Because we feel and are aware. But when A.I and organic computers mesh and merge with human kind, they could say the same thing. It will and must happen, this is not fantasy its reality. You could even say our entire universe including everything in it is a simulation. That is what I think about when I say I am an animal. What does that mean? Animals are just information too. In time we can even simulate our entire universe and everything in it.

This is not ration or empathy. Nor would a similar situation be for a human. It's all instinct. We instinctively would not want to never see some one we consider a companion ever again. Of course, that's a rational thought from a human, but I'm sure there's a more evolutionary explanation for why we save each other.

It's actually pretty obvious: We would just instinctively want people we trust to thrive just like our selves.

I doubt those standing at the station could have got close to these monkeys without being attacked as they would have protected their friend. It would also have been dangerous for them to walk over the railway. I think his friend did a great job to revive him. Perhaps we need to learn some things from this. :)
