i was so bummer earliar today i had a cobia on for about 3 or 4 minutes it was at the surface a few times and just as it got close to our boat it gave a huge effort to dive down and i lost about 25 feet of line, after another minute it was getting near our boat when a shark came up and got it.

You shouldn't go up and down with you rod when you have a fish cause it can cause a hole in the fishes mouth making it easier for the hook to come out. Im 13 years old and a big fan of you :D. Just giving you advise but you probably wont take it just because I'm 13 but whatever

That's how you fight big fish. Doesn't really create a big hole in the mouth all you have to do is keep tension in the line and you'll be fine. You can't just winch a fish in without pumping the rod its kinda impossible unless you're fishing really heavy gear

Yes, but for stingrays over 200lbs, I would recommend using 100lb Bullbuster braid.

The Suburban Fisherman A gaff is used because those fish (bonita) that are being caught are anywhere from 10 to 25 pounds and would tear right through a net, plus your line and the fish would get caught in the net, a gaff is much easiar just stab the fish and bring it in, and dont worry the gaff doesnt hurt the fish if you look up some articles online scientists have come to a coclusion that fish dont have the nerves to feel pain like we do but instead feel like signals

How do you find the sharks? I go vertical jigging all the time and throw out a bonita to catch a shark but it takes forever to get a bite if we do.

Im a freshwater fisher boy (13 years old) and i sub to you and BlacktipH, sharks can be found near wrecks and if not , try chumming the waters by spilling a medium amount of Bonita blood into the water ( Bonita are really bloody fish) maybe 4 cut bonita will do . Keep the great kids Blacktip and you too. i hope my advise helps you, you might not take it just because im 13 and only fish in freshwater but if you do , you will find the shark
