i was just watching a vid on the snake discovery(yes im a weirdo) and there were hundreds of gold fish in the pond bcs someone realsed a bunch of the fish

You can call them bait fish but they reproduce quickly and produce toxic waist to other fish, not to mention that they eat a lot. Clearly you never heard of Asian carp.
Goldfish reproduce incredibly fast and they are an invasive species to that pond

You probably live where SnakeDiscovery does and the whole pond is full of millions of goldfish and they are more than 3 pounders
If there was a flood the goldfish move to another pond and become invasive there too and reproduce challenging the native species which may come extinct
Goldfish drop tons of waste and with unlimited food supply they could take over a whole lake and all you would see is orange and brown
