Boyd's ChemiClean will cure that cyano problem. I struggled with all the traditional cures for months until I finally opted for a chemical approach with CC. It completely irradicated the problem in 48 hours with no harm to anything else in the tank. That was 6 months ago and no return of cyano. Suggest you get LED lighting and many of your "issues" will be easier to deal with by stabilizing your light source and getting consistency. Save money, run cooler, improve color, join the crowd.

i don't see the need to dose once so ever. i have much more corals than you do and i have mix softie corals, lps and sps. I keep my salinity at 1.028 which is the perfect level to have stable levels of alk and ca. with the amount of corals that i have my calcium stays at 420-450, my kh is at 11 and i have never dose alk all this time that my sistem has been running. so i'm thinking ur probably killing the corals by dosing since you don't have alot of corals yet.

What type of salt are you using and whats the salinity level ur are currently keeping. I'm really leaning that it might be a problem with bulb quality either its a bad batch of bulbs or their to close to your tank and you need to place it higher up if the bulb is too intense. I wouldn't waste my money in a par meter as you are not changing light fixtures constantly or reviewing fixtures for companies. also i wonder if the tank doesn't like to be dose, for the amount of corals that you have

I probably will try some phoenix bulbs next time I'm ready to replace bulbs. What I really need is a par meter so I can collect real data to identify the problem. Unfortunately the problem continues to worsen. It appears that the RTN issue I had previously maybe affecting other corals. My current theory is that there is a bacterial infection in my tank. Right now I'm just trying to ride this out and ill rebuild once the death stops and whatever's left shows signs of good health.

your corals, maybe the bulbs quality hasn't been all that great even tho they are new. Also try playing around with the hight you have the unit at. Maybe the corals are getting bleached because the light is too close to the water or who knows. Maybe trying some Reef Chili from BRS might help bring the corals coloration back or your dosings might be a bit too much on your corals not sure what your Alk level is at.

sorry ran out of room, I've heard in the past that depending on your ballast type it had a big influence on the quality of lighting output spectrum on the bulbs regardless of brand or kelvin. Some people really swear that if your getting bleaching their might be a problem with ur Metal Halide unit capabilities regardles what the sticker says. I have a spare Dual 500 watt Metal Halide that did one amazing job. Anyways, why don't you try using some Pheonix 14K bulbs and see the reaction of

Hmmm for some reason i don't see the response i sent you last night. On my response last night, i suggested if you have checked your phosphate levels, if you have a bit of phosphate i would def add a phosban reactor to your tank setup. You should try adding some trace elements like Essential Elements by Kent Marine that way your corals could benefit from additional elements. Also another thing that came into mind this morning is

Its worth a shot in a year when I need to change bulbs. I'm using Uisho bulbs witch should be a pretty good bulb as I've seen many stunning tanks that use these bulbs. I think the biggest problem I had was I tried running an old Odysea bulb when one of the Ushio bulbs burned out and that defiantly bleached some corals. There is still another problem with my tank that is killing corals and I don't think its lighting related, but I just cant figure out what it is. Water parameters are all good.

like your vidz, has anyone suggested already for you to switch to higher quality bulbs. your corals are bleaching in color andloosing their vibrant colors that they should have. My guess is ur lighting is the issue.
