+Anything Marine I recommend this for a 10.  I ordered it off of Ebay.  Also my LFS store said it was good enough for a 10 gallon.  And well they been in business for over 27 years so I am pretty sure they wouldn't steer me wrong not to mention my LFS has an awesome reputation.

how often did you feed marine snow??  im thinking it must of been a pinch of it concidering the direction for ml's per gallons
Manny_85
Manny_85 - 9 years ago
okay thank you! Ya sometimes i wonder if the amount the bottle says is even enough because its so little. just wanted a second opinion.. thank you
Maverick Tide
Maverick Tide - 9 years ago
+Manny_85 2-3 times a week (i think). I don't really remember exactly the amount but i do remember it was a tiny bit. It should say in the directions on the bottle exactly how much to put in.

So do you still dose your tank?? What do/did you use. My reef needs help... Well really it's my gold torch that needs help. Do you find that particular coral to be tough to maintain??
Please help. thank u

+Maverick Tide i do water changes weekly... i think the problem was that i was doing big volume water changes in an attempt to try to lower nitrtates.. almost  50% weekly. im sure the torch was not happy with that.. plus the conditions werent the best altho i had no problems with my hammer or any other of my corals. i have a 15 gallon tank with about 11 gallons of total water and now i do a 3 gallon change weekly. No skimmer
Maverick Tide
Maverick Tide - 9 years ago
+Manny_85 no i don't dose anymore. I rely on my weekly water changes to replenish all the trace elements. I use to use B-Ionic Calcium Buffer System component 1 and 2. Torch corals are not that difficult to maintain. Its an lps. How often are u doing water changes on ur tank?

What's up bro. What were you dosing the tank with when this vid was up. I just started my 10 gallon reef and I'm wondering what you were dosing?
Maverick Tide
Maverick Tide - 9 years ago
+MASS Aquariums used to use b-ionics: component #1 and #2 but then quickly changed my method. Started using red sea salt instead of reef crystals (higher amounts of calcium, magnesium and all thee other great minerals. That alone did the trick.

I put a watchmen goby and a pistol shrimp in mine and their relationship is pretty cool to watch... just an idea... also those damsels are pretty but they can b assholes towards other fish... I had to get rid of him once I started introducing new fish... but tank looks good! Keep up the good work

Looking good, I think you should add a clown goby. It would be cool seeing it perched on the red cap
Maverick Tide
Maverick Tide - 10 years ago
I agree. i love little nano fish but my problem with that is feeding them. I want to keep this tank easy to take care for, so when feeding i just drop some pellets at the top and thats it. With little nano fish they wont be able to get to the food in time because the damsel will eat it all up. So i would have to manually take the top off, get a turkey baster or something and bring the food to them. That would be a pain to do everyday. So thats why i dont have them.

I think your original 2 clowns looked the best. vibrant, fun, and a nice bright orange. Maybe ditch the damselfish? It looks a bit bland. Still your tank seems to be so much better kept than your previous videos. Great improvement overall and keep updating!
Maverick Tide
Maverick Tide - 10 years ago
Your right i went back to that clownfish video i made and they looked really good in there (Very bright orange). Might actually get them now that you mentioned it. Will see... If the damsel fish is going to bother the clowns all get rid of him.

I always dreamed of having one with a pair of clownfish hosting it! But my issue is that it loves to move around. Thats something i dont like. I would have to be constantly move all the corals around the tank every time it decides to move which would be a big hassle every time. SUCKS
