Gyre's hadn't been released when this video was shot. I do run them on all tanks now though, in constant mode.

Amazing PE! The depth and intensity of coral coloration is intense. Only reefers know the amount of compassion and dedication one must have to achieve these results.

The polyp extension is amazing. Has it always been that good. I have noticed my sps extension happens when the lights are off. Is there anything I should I do to help that?

What brand food are you using for your corals?
ajcanale
ajcanale - 5 years ago
This video was shot in the morning just as the lights started ramping up, so many of the acro's are showing night time polyp extension, which is normal.  I believe (in theory) p.e. is less during the day to maximize photosynthesis with zooxanthellae present in the tissue. I've found daytime p.e. can be encouraged with regular targeted feedings during the day.

Your tank looks great! What salt and lights do you run. I know there is more to it, I just ask everyone.

Planning to start with zeovit since day zero,I have seen great results..hopefully will works for me as well

I was thinking on adding an extra skimmer (my old one) so that I have a redundancy in case the main fail and on the other hands I have an extra 150g stimmate.. Do you think can be a good idea? My Nitrate are high so I am thinking on successful ways on lowering them!
ajcanale
ajcanale - 5 years ago
Adding an extra skimmer will not directly "lower" nitrates, it will help in removing wastes that raise nitrates.  Carbon dosing is a very effective way of recucing nitrates, whether vodka, vinegar, sugar, honey... or bio pellets. You just have to start slow and not over dose.

+ajcanale what sheude for radion
ajcanale
ajcanale - 5 years ago
No zeovit, or amino dosing.  Only heavy skimming + GFO, moderate fish feeding and feeding coral once or twice a week.
