Not coralline. It's common green algae which could have been taken off in minutes. Lazy lazy.

+pitpotdeeerste it's most likely coralline algae so you can't just wipe it off or even scrub it.. You would need a scraper with razor blade on the end to get that off...just FYI

Peace To All,

Nice Reef! As per the Rhodactics, they can eat fish. I lost my Resplendid and Multicolor Angels to this type of coral. I think After observing this coral carefully, I think that they release some type of scent to lure the fish. And I say that it must be a strong scent because I witness my trying to eat my juv. Garabaldi Damsel.

For some strange reason, the fish that get's lured into the Rhodactis area, stay calm and willing to stay around the center of this coral. Then it happens. The Rhodactis will start to slowly and smoothly, curl up on all sides, until the fish is enveloped and trapped, like a Venus Fly Trap plant.

It's one of my favorite corals, but it had to go..

Come on! why not clean the glass once in awhile. You can hardly call that maintanence. It may be jampacked with coral but it dosn't matter if you can't see through the glass

When we say rarely maintained I am convinced it's best maintained. I happened to believe now that the worst enemy to the reef tank is human hand. Good filtration and regular feeding is enough to keep the inhabitants alive.

Goes to show that you don't need an ultra low nutrient tank for corals to thrive. As a matter of facts, softies, and some LPS, do better in a bit of a dirtier tank. only SPS need an ULN system. But that front glass is filthy I must say!
