In this video I will be adding a 10 gallon frag tank to the main display tank. I will show you everything i did step by step so you can do this on your own. Adding this frag tank has allowed me to store up to 200 frags without any of them being inside my main display. Please enjoy the video. What size drain/return did you use? Also there's no secondary or emergency drain on this in case the main drain clogs?

main reef has three drains at 3/4 inch the frag tank has 1 inch drain

your frag tank water source coming from the refugium under the main display tank and the exit goes where ?

A dcs 12000 return pump and then into a manifold that powers my gfo, carbon reactor, biopellets, uv and this tank. After the water drains back into the sump skimmer section to be cleaned before repeating the process.

Just make sure you slowly drip acclimate them to salt. If you do it over a few days i have found they do better in the long run.

You need magnets to hold your frag racks up. BRS sells some great epoxy covered magnets that work great.

nice build. lol i was going to ask how long it would take before you put fish in there and you already did. Is that a saltwater mollie? Do they do a good job with cleanup? USAF Retired.

Thanks and yes that was one of the original mollies i introduced in a previous video. They are great at picking algae if any was to ever sneak up. Mollies are a brackish fish so fresh or salt is fine for them. Thanks for watching

You could also put a bulkhead in with pvc pipe and have the end capped off to prevent flow that would be the safer thing to do

You can use acrylic or glass sheet and silicone it over the holes but i wouldn't mess with that just not worth the risk
