what is the point of the "lightning" and it changing color over the day?

Tidal Gardens Inc. - 8 years ago
+Aaron R it's largely a feature to sell lights to people. It probably has no beneficial effect on the tank inhabitants. The dimming effects maybe, but not the lightning.

I wouldn't put the sump under the tank !  Maintenance is key and easy , accessibility to the sump is the only way ! Fat man has money to pay for his tank to be maintained by someone other than him ! NEXT VIDEO PLEASE !

I'd run as an Ultralith (or Zeovit) system, with a shoal of Regal tangs (Hippo's in the U.S. i think), a Queen angel, some gobies & blennies; & then spent a not so small fortune on coral from White Corals in Germany (they ship overnight to England & their stock is awesome)..... & I would be very much in debt

he has a lot of swimming area depending on his aquaculture. Also as a local to your shop than I would suggest a harlequin tusk for color or a flame prawn goby. Possibly a mystery wrasse, purple tang or faxface for algae control. I imagine this is a display tank so you will want utility fish along with colorful fish. Of course the six line wrasse and Mandarin dragonet. A possible diamond goby. To compliment you display aspect maybe some schooling fish such as firefish either regular or helfrichi?

I'd have two or three islands of live rock and have an SPS island, soft island, and LPS island, and mix a few non aggressive softies throughout the SPS and LPS island, and then for fish i really do not know

Full sps and mixed soft and lps corals beautiful fish and even some that are risky like an Angel or Butterfly fish as for rock work very challenging and intricate with cave ledges creating a very odd and natural look

Wow. The build looks awesome. And if it were my tank i'd have an intricate rock setup with a few caves and have it look very natural look. SPS on the top and a few ricordea mushrooms near the sand bed. Mostly LPS and soft coral dominate. Frogspawn, bubble corals, maybe a brain coral. Some nice colored corals for sure with a few small fish, and maybe a Rusty Angel and some nice inverts. A reef tank for sure

That looks like a fantastic set up and an amazing build. Also, incredibly pricy! But, you don't get into this hobby if you're not willing to spend a few dollars. And isn't it worth it, in the end? That said, in response to your question. I'm new to reef keeping. But I'm particularly fond of some of the brighter LPS's I've seen. Hammers, and a few mushrooms. I would love to see a sizable mantipora or two and even some actual plant life in the tank itself. I would only use enough fish to pop.
Rico Suave

I would do a sea grass bed with some colony's of stony corals and some sea horses with an array of invertebrates
