Do not watch this video with your significant other if he/she already knows that bright red coral in your tank only costs $10. It would just be redundant information... -- Follow Sally on Instagram: missaveragereefer -- Magnetic Frag Rack in my tank (Amazon): http://amzn.to/2n18w4G ATO Container (Amazon): http://amzn.to/2nDy1XS -- Music by: DJ Quads & panthurr

Currently at Petco and thinking of grabbing about 50.00-75.00 worth of livestock.
170.00cdn paid for the complete running set-up I have a buddy owing me some nice pieces of softies since I gave him a bunch when I previously shutdown.
So looking at 250.00 max
My first 3,6 12 months is my learning period with trial & error with properly cycling a tank to easily overstocking to mixingq incompatible fish. Begginer mistakes that are very costly, say you make $10 an hour, I put in 25-30 hours per week or 2-4 hours a day on YouTube learning hobby & equipnent.
So, $200-400 weekly going on months in the beginning.
But if you don't count your personal time invested & many trips back & forth between home & aquarium store burning gas.
Priceless!

And that's just a starbucks coffee, what about a starbucks coffee, a few chocolate bars, a pack of cigarettes and a bag of chips? Many people buy that every day and don't think they are spending that much money, where I live that would cost about 8$ a day, that's 14,600$ in 5 years. You can get a really decent tank with that money.

You forgot the rocks + sand + salt + electricity + maintenance equipment (siphons, brushes) + RO/DI replacement (DI resin, RO Membrane) + Testkits + Chemicals... I'm sure there is so much more left out haha
You got pretty good deals on the tank and skimmer, but even with that the costs of livestock really do creep up.
I live in Europe so maybe we have stuff cheaper here.
Also, doing things DIY really helps with budget.
Biggest money savior is used equipment,I bought some of my stuff for 1/3 of the price because they were working for only a few months!
I think i come in close to your costs, but everything is alot more expensive here in australia.
what brand and model?
It's more I'm forgetting and I've lost along the way. Total right now is $8,788.00
Biggest cost was 800 for lighting with bracket arms. $2500 just to get a cycled tank under $2500 seems about right. And the same for livestock. Better than a TV
live rock, sand, heater, scraper för the glass, supplements (just kalk?)
:)

Of course this is a fun hobby. Many of the costs are initial costs and over the years will divide itself out!
Thanks for the vid. Great as always.
