no and its the one thing i wish i made myself cause its a ecoshops product and it is junk, i had to modify to keep the filter socks from falling out of it, personally i couldnt figure it out so thats why i bought the sock holder so good luck to u

Because of the type of lights used (Metal Halides) the bill does go up but the rest of the system you wont tell a difference.

I have known several people to use acrylic dividers for a glass sump. The expansion rates for glass and acrylic are different apparently. The glass sumps always cracked and leaked. Nice looking job man. Good Luck.

can anyone tell me or give me a site that has info that tells me what i need and what i should get to keep and maintain a reef tank not really alot of reef and corals just a few like 7-10 at the most

no but i kind of wish i did make my own cause after a few days of the filter socks being in it they fall off (poor manufacture design). so i had to rig it so where they will stay on.

its called aquarium safe silicone and its made by Marineland and still to this day it is holding up just fine. just make sure you do a leak test after the first 24 hrs of letting the sealant dry fill the tank with water on the side where your filters will go and watch it travel through the dividers making sure there is no leaks.

it seems more like the plumbing in the drain box isnt done correctly but without seeing some sort of pic or vid i cant really know

Its a Via Aqua 4900 and even though it is one of the cheaper pumps it is still running with no problems (hope i didnt just jinx myself, lol)

yes it did get a little quieter but honestly u get use to the noise and its not in a closed in stand so that would also help contain the noise better.

From my lfs but u can do a google search - Eshopps Rectangular Micron Bag Holder - 2 Bags - Extra Large, just a heads up they are not that great cause once they are about 1/4 dirty they start to fall off the holder so i had to build some extra clips to keep them on.

dude that thing is awesome. You should totally figure out how you can get that skimmer in the first stage though if you are planning on raising pods to feed your fish. Up to you though bitchin diy good work!

@ScottsTanks that was the only place that it would fit due to the refugium section needing to have slow water movement to function properly. In most cases the sumps usually dont have an additional divider for protien skimmer to go in so it is always next to the main pump. It is rather simple to prevent bubbles from making there way into the main display by placing a filter sock over the outlet of the skimmer or a thick sponge block next to the inline of the pump.

Why would you put the protein skimmer in the same section as the return pump? The whole point of the bubble traps is to stop microbubbles from the skimmer and filter socks.

@MrMattNice yes there is some bowing, i guess only time will tell (no leaks yet) i had to build this with a very tight budget so i went with the thinner pannels. The two filters made by eshops where much more than I had expected and the sock material is not that good, it has a plastic rim at the top wich is very cheap, im afraid the next time i clean them it will break.
