why oh why didnt you pour it in down a 3 inch plastic pipe , it would have stopped all that

I have in other tanks and once the sand comes out of the tube it still does it, the flakes just sift up. I have even rinsed the flakes and it decreases it yes but still does so I just go for it with this product, other products that take days to settle no deal but this one just acts like any major storm in the ocean and settle down in few hours lol

I know it does when you see the cloud form doesnt it of sand, but the interesting part is the world does this to fish, ocean camera catch huge storms and currents moving through off shore reefs and the fish and coral survive days of dust and sand storms under the water columns, its amazing but once every 4 years is like little hurricane lol. PS these are also calcium based flakes, I never do this with a true sand substrate it take way to long and that be potentially to hard ont he system verses few hours

Adding more sand is fine, I can't imagine adding it the way that you added it. Stressing everything out is an under statement. Soak the bag in RO and then wipe it down, cut a small corner off bring the bag to the bottom of the tank and then lets small amounts out at a time. Or use a PVC pipe and a funnel if you don't have the space it makes it a two man job but stresses the tank a lot less. I am not saying that the way you did it was not easier and does not work your finished results clearly show that it did but I can only imagine the stress everything was in.
