With all kinds of Aquarium Technology around why should I add a Simple Algae Turf Scubber to my Expensive System? I have a Santa Monica Filtration Scrubber Called the Surf. It is and Up flow Scrubber do to the fact that Air gets pumped thru the bottom of the box and into a net of Stringy Grabbers. The Algae then attaches itself onto the Strings and is Grown with a Red Led Light that sits on top. Now what the Scrubber is doing is keeping any nuisance algae out of the display tank. The scrubber itself is taking carbon dioxide and other nutrients and misc garbage out of your water system. The scrubber is allowing a growing system allows that surge of water to have a place for this Green Algae to grow. It does take some time to establish a natural environment for the Algae to get established. But once it does you can enjoy the natural growth taking place in your aquarium sump.
