I've just started my marine I have a tropical tank and was infested with snails...I bought loache and they wouldn't eat them...In the end I bought 4 puffers figure of eight and they ate over 1000snails in 4 hours...So there much be a fish that eats them...

i tried a green spotted mandarin fish for flatworms. went to my local shop and they had this sorry looking thin mandarin so brought it home and crossed fingers. my tank was covered in flatworms and the mandarin wiped them out within a couple of days at most. she is now the fattest fish i have and feeding time she hovers near the surface waiting for food. she eats what ever goes in inc flake along with what ever she catches during the day in her everlasting hunt. my best investment along with the peppermint shrimp who wiped out the aiptasia problem almost as fast.

only just got a notification about reply's so hope you sorted problem out. i was lucky because within an hour she (who turned out to be a he with small spine) stated eating them. only thing i can think of doing is make your fish hungry enough to want to eat them. if your food is nicer than the worms it will probably ignore them. you could start with a day on and day off feeding for a week and see how that goes, if not then maybe try and get it paired with another. now that is something i would recomend anyways. i bought another and it has changed the way the first acts. they are never apart and often just glide around each other in circles like a romantic dance. its amaizing to watch and very gracefull. the newer one is tiny and not mature enough to spawn but it isnt stopping her from going through the motions once all the lights are out. they really are an amazing fish.

I have a spotted mandarin but he seems to ignore all my flat worms. I have even sucked them out and tried to put near him in water to entice. any tips for training them to eat the flat worms or is it just luck

The skimmer should be left on as well as the filter. There may be worms in there too. The solution needs to go through the entire system. Remove carbon as well.

Melunarus Wrasse and Blue Mandarins worked for me. They devastated an out of control population of flat worms.

It says sea world on it, but really it is just Chinese no name, but I gotta say I love it. I paid $180 for it and it is worth every penny with the crazy blues at night.

Wow I had never seen those flat worms before since I don't have a saltwater tank. You could of put the sock at the end of that hose in a plastic drum and put back the clean water so you can have a longer time cleaning. Or you could of put a pump in the drum so it can pump back the water and you was draining it. I use to do that when I was cleaning the gravel. Happy New Year.
