In short, bacteria starts to grow it consumes nitrates and produces nitrogen gas and exits the aquarium in gas form. In turn you can reduce Nitrates in your saltwater aquarium without doing a water change. In my experience, if your nitrates are off the chart you'll still need to do water changes to get them down quickly as it takes a little bit for the bacteria to do it and that's even if your dosing bacteria. Great video and great product once it's established.
