I have a question, first off awesome job on the tank. My question is. I'm buying a saltwater fish tank from a guy less then 5 mins away. It's a 150 gallon tank. I really need advice on how to move and transport safely. What should I do about the water? Can I take it all with in closed bins and pour it all back in? Should I prepare some before the move and use all new water?

+Tyler Johnson Thank you. When I set up the 210 gallon system, the tank I purchased was over 1 hr away and had to be transported to where it is currently. When transporting a tank, you want it to be empty of all water and to lay flat. We took the back seats out of a van and it rested flat on top of towels. I prepared new saltwater and used Dr. Tims Nitrifying bateria with some chromis to prep the tank for the livestock and coral transfer a week and a half later. Are you purchasing the tank only or livestock as well?

You can use the same water and live rock.I would however get new sand because of what could have settled in the sand you have, could cause a nitrates to rise or even an ammonia spike because it will get all stirred up. When I upgraded I used the water from my 75g tank (a couple water changes worth) and then the additional new water. You shouldn't have to cycle. but I would recommend using Dr. Tims nitrifying bacteria.
