doesn't using the old sand cause a nitrate spike? and cause a tank cylce and possible crash?

Snow and a hour and a half ride in a unheated truck in buckets? yikes First thing I'd do is get the fish out, into buckets, setup a heater, small powerhead and airstone and put plastic plants in if theyre available. Then arrange for them to ride in a heated car or at the very least wrapped in blankets around the buckets. This was more like a video on how not to move fish.

Good information. One thing, quit panning the video so fast. There's no sense in doing so, gave me a headache. Go slow and steady !

Hey I am moving house, and I was wondering if I would need to buy any special container to hold some water and some live rock. And do I need different buckets for each species of fish. Thanks for you time and great vid.

Hey bro
Yes you will need rubber main containers or buckets to hold the extra water you need to bring to the new location. Also for the fish, if all the fish are in the same tank already that means that they will get along together in bucket or container. Just give them enough space to swim if they are larger. And don't cram them all into one bucket if you think it's too many fish in one bucket. Space them out if needed.

Also: Dont put rocks with the fishes, during the move the rock could move and kill the fish.

Few dangerous security mesures you did'nt do:
- Wair gloves, some small criters may hurt you, some palys COULD EVEN KILL YOU (search Palythoa)
- Don't siphon with your mouth (same reasons), EASIEST is to put a foot of tube under water (blocking the other extreme with a finger)

Hey bud. Have a question. I have e 125 reef tank with a overflow box and a just upgrade to same size tank reef ready. That will be about 10 ' from the other one just to transfer all the live stock, that will be ok since its a different tank?
