can you cure your rock in the tank with sand already in there?

John Smith I cured it in the tank without sand . then added the sand to cycle . you don't want to cure it with sand since you want lots of flow to clean out the rocks and make several water changes thru the curing process to clean out all the detritus the rocks will release . then add sand once you are ready to cycle.

+Minjun Choi I would always recommend using dry dead rock or bleaching then acid washing dry live rock before putting it into a new build.

tank looks great I noticed your sand what kind is that? it looks like pool filter sand. if it is run a magnet over it and you will see how much flaks of some kind of metal. happened to me .

Just curious how do you mount corals onto a rock now that it is all connected together? My rocks are just stacked on top of each other and all I need to do is remove the piece I want to mount the coral to.

Really nice scape. Has so much depth and will showcase corals when you get them. If I ever decided to convert the 140 to a reef I will use your method here.
