@tkdhav I agree...adding chemicals to your tank...will increase the chance of a crash..and will disturb your eco system.

@Fishyboy1998 A U.V STEROLIZER WILL ONLY GIVE THE FISH A FIGHTING CHANCE,It will not rid infestation.Unless the ick is pumped through the U.V sterolizer..it will continue to feed and reproduce.HYPO SALINITY ALONG WITH RAISING THE TEMP TO 82*F IS THE BEST WAY TO GO IN A NON REEF TANK.RAISING THE TEMP SPEEDS UP THE ICK'S LIFESPAN.. SALINITY LOWER THEN 1.010 IS KRYPTONITE TO ICK...THE COMBINATION OF THE 2 WILL SLOWLY RID THE PARASITE FROM YOUR TANK.GOOD LUCK!!!

yep i have used the ICH treatment and i whent out today and got a UV light with pump. but i didnt get home in time and i lost my long noise. i put in the UV in my sump and having it run but the "ICH treatment" i found has somthing that some wrasses are alergic to and kills them. but ty for the vids and kepp us all in update with the new sump.

@fighter7387 Yeah in part 2 I state how I’m not happy with this product and then move to getting a UV, if you have a reef tank you want to combat this with a UV sterilizer, you can lower the salinity to around 31-32 that will help fight it and feeding your tangs with garlic extract.

ok i have bought the exact same thing for my 40 gal tank and my long nose butterfly has ick and i have been throught a hole bottle and it is not gone. and on top of that the same thing happen to my warase as well. i think the treatment is toxic to cleaner wrasses. but it wont eat anything but brine shrimp. any ideas on what i can do?

@Fishyboy1998 I would suggest using a UV, you can also lower your suggest lowering your Salinity in your tank as long as nothing else will be harmed as in corals to something around 31-32 PPT but just double check to make sure everything else can handle it. You are doing good to give them the Garlic extract. Keep me posted!

Hi I have a Niger triggerfish and a scopas tang that both have ich ( I live in Scotland so I say White spot) would you recommend using a UV steriliser? I have never used one before, in the past I switched the lights off ( I got told that white spot can't reproduce in the dark is this true?) I feed my tang and trigger algae sheets with garlic extract in it, is there any thing else you would recommend doing? Plz help me???? Thanks

I called no one a noob, just calling out a noob mistake you made, that's all, having a tank like you have in the condition it's in, you are obviously far from being a noob, I am also learning myself and am probably less advanced as you. Not trying to be offensive.

@Th3mast3r69 My tank is 47” x 18” x 28” (inside measurements) my sump is 20” x 10” x 10” (@lowest water level) and my refugium is 20” x 10” x 12” (@lowest level also) that alone = 121 gallons at the lowest water levels in my tank, not to mention over 40’ of ¾” line then deduct for rocks and sand I think it’s close enough to my original comment of 110 but thanks for the condescension. Next time find something more constructive to comment about. Happy Reef Keeping

I like to stay friendly with everyone because I sure don’t know it all and this is one reason I created these videos is so we can all learn from each other however you are ignorant of many facts.

I can't believe you made the noob mistake and assumed that just because you have a 110 gallon tank, that's how much water is in there! Take everything but the water out of you tank. You really think you'll still have 110 gallons of water in there?

Thanks it is a 30 gallon tank I am getting a 400ltr tank really soon I might get a regal tang thanks for the advice

@Fishyboy1998 Tangs are not bad, the only reall trouble I have had is the Ich, they alot of times, dont like to be in the tank with other tangs but most of the time it only seems like an agression that last for a little bit. good luck and let me know how it goes.

I would love to keep one of these tang are they easy to keep and I know they get ich easily I would be ready for that

@mrpmj00 Glad to hear all is good. Food for thought I shut my UV off now that I have no ich so that way i'm not killing off copepods and such, however if I add any new guys to the tank I always turn it back on for a few days just to make sure all my guys stay clean.

Mine had ich too after 3 days of getting him. I got a 15w UV sterilizer and the ich was 90% gone within 24 hours and completely gone in a week (I first filtered the water through my canister before going to my uv sterilizer). My hippo is still around with me after 1.5 years so far. That was a close one! I bought the Aqua Advantage 2000 15w uv sterilizer at aquacave.com or petstore.com

@tkdhav I think I am just going to do it the I had planned and admit them in to the hospital for 6 weeks while if the ick made it to my tank will die off due to no host!! I am going to get the stuff you have and use it in my tank instructions say it is safe for reefs and inverts. I read up on it it is all organic!

@eyesonyou2ube As far as Inverts copper is toxic to aquatic inverts but if you're talking about the Ich-Attach no it is not harmful, just whatever you buy don’t take anyone’s word for it read the instructions & for sure don’t trust 90% of the guys in the store.

@eyesonyou2ube Well great job on catching early. As far as the what I’m using, would not recommend this in a hospital tank, does not work that good. I have read what does the best in a fish only tank is copper & for like black Ich is brackish water. Have not done either of these in the past.

Man just after watching this video I noticed my damsels have a small case of ick! I took them out of the tank ( the two fish I have in my 55 right now) and set them in a small 10 gallon hospital tank. I need to get some of that but I was wondering if it is safe for inverts ?
