Low Ph issues in the reef tank, well here is the simple piece of equipment to help it

Scrubbing the air of CO2 with a BRS Air Filter and Absorbent. Color Changing Medical Grade CO2 Absorbent http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/universal-air-filter.html We are getting closer to replacing the 75gallon tank with a sump in its place. They will exist in a basement full of stale air which has not helped us keeping the Ph high. Since its Minnesota winter time, we cant just open a window without freezing the tank, so here is the solution that works well on our tank and will on the future sump. Attach the air line to your protein skimmer and let the air the skimmer uses be free of CO2 and hence more oxygen and more stable higher Ph in the marine reef. Have you tried to recharge this media once it's saturated with CO2? There must be a way to reverse it. Maybe by heating the media? I'm guessing you've wondered, let us know, thanks.

Tried! Works! pH raised from 7.6-7.8 to about 8.5 in a couple of days without any extra additives. All levels are good.

Nice video, but as long as your P.H is over 7.8 why bother chasing it.

Thank your for this video. I am so confused as to how to set this up with a SeaClone 150 skimmer. I have it set up in the sump. The skimmer has one airline hose which I then adjust for air intake. How  do I install  this scrubber? Do I take the airline hose that is on the skimmer and lead it to the scrubber? Then there is the second airline that is confusing me. Please help me.

Confusing it is, but if you hook the air line out up the skimmer that is great, then you can decide where you want to put the other in line to the scrubber too.  You can do like we do and run it outside or have it just stuck air from the room its in

Our pH is stable and currently at 8.3 in the daytime and about 8.22 to 8.24 at night. Low pH is very frustrating and oxygen is a help and so is good to great skimmer to remove waste, lots of live rock, small feedings with quality none flaky foods, and of course low bioloads per tank volume. With all that said most of our clients have tanks running about 7.9 to 8.15, bummer I wish they were higher but it is tough to do in different situations

I'm curious how well this worked in the long run. My ph is all over the place. Just as you, I am dealing with New England winter in an enclosed room. Thanks in advance for your replies...

Sorry I have not updated the video lately, but I can report pH is stable at 8.33 in the day and goes down to about 8.28-8.29 at night thanks

I have the same issue, but I don't have a skimmer.

I have replied to this before the device I installed is still for sale at bulk reef, the same one I installed and use on the video. Its the Universal Air Filter via bulk reef supply online and uses Color Changing Medical Grade CO2 Absorbent. I posted the link in the description for people to find

Where would somebody get something like this now that BRS doesn't carry it?

Actually the old scrubber unit they had was discontinued but we just bought the Color Changing Medical Grade CO2 Absorbent and the Universal Air Filter via bulk reef supply online for friends the other day and they had them. They are the exact ones in the video, hopes this helps.

Thanks for the questions, we use the outside air the basement we live in with the tank have furnace water heater and other equipment running in it and hence has little fresh oxygen coming in. Outside air helps with that. The scrubber on it that just makes sure we get oxygen and not the co2 and such. If you add fresh O2 to a tank, remove the phosphates, nitrates and increase good bioload bacteria I am sure the tank will come up on the pH for you, just try to not over load the tank with life

@mrpmj00 Your Right!!! My surface water isnt agitated in this tank well, the new build will have that solved, sorry but I dont want to add things to this tank that will not be used on the new one. Also if the air in the room, like mine, is carring higher CO2 level, adding that into the tank through skimmer or air stone etc will not help much either has been my experience. Your skimmer is much better then the one I have, I dont recommend mine but it was a live & learn deal right=)

I notice your water surface is not being agitated by the powerheads which could be the cause of low ph. A great protein skimmer like REEF OCTOPUS BH-2000 hangon, and an airstone in the display tank fixed my low ph.
