BeachKing it was just 2 tubes of coral plus with the kessil. But now I'm using euroquatics E5 coral pop.

Welcome to reefing and hope you enjoy the process. Yes, dosing is very important to maintain the depleted elements of the water. There are 3 essential elements which must always be kept within the ppm range daily. Namely calcium, magnesium and hardness KH. after this will be strontium and potassium. the rest will be trace elements which you dose weekly.

i use Fauna Marin Pro Salt and supplements. Auto dosing Calcium (430ppm) and KH (10dKH). Somehow Magnesium always maintain at 1350ppm, so never dose. Potassium constant at 410ppm, Nitrate and Phosphate zero.
Equipment: Neptune Apex system, to control Kessil lights, Jebao WP and RW wavemakers, Bubble magnus Curve 9 skimmer, Jebao DC12000 return pump, Sump is 450L volume (8ft long tank) with compartments for mechanical filtration, bacterial housing, 3ft refugium, drop in chiller coil, 1 breeding compartment, 3ft frag compartment, activated carbon canister.

+11eneo Yeah I know it's because of the blues. I just think it looks more natural with whiter light, it's not criticism by the way.

too luminous? Well they are the actual colors under blue lighting close to 20,000K temp. As many will know, cameras will never capture the actual colors due to the blue hue, therefore taking out the blue hue by means of a yellow plastic filter infront of the lens. this way, you see the corals florescence as what you see in the real time. :)

how can i make my corals..raise...do u use real rock...or the ply...stuff..if i try and reshape...the rock...it will fall to pieces

i use 50/50 live rock and fake rock (some plastic kind). To stack the rocks, its better to shape it outside the tank with the reef safe epoxy. It is very difficult to epoxy inside the filled tank and you have to improvise something to temporary hold the structure until the epoxy hardens.

i have no experience with hydra or radion etc... sorry cant advise much on these lights as i believe it has 4 channels of spectram to adjust. Other than lights is of cos your water parameters must be suitable for SPS corals etc....

im using Jebao Dc-12000 comes with flow controller. i set at 8 notch out of total 10 notch, so i estimate roughly 10,000 LPH. My tank total volume is 1000L. hope this helps. General rule of thumb is 10 times of total volume but i think 8 times is optimal due to allowing more time for bacteria and macro algae in the refugium to absorb the nutrients.

hi Nicolas, im dosing the Fauna Marin colour elements (3 bottles set), Ultra Min S, coral balance and reef vitality.
Separately dose potassium and strontium once weekly after water test. must not over dose these 2.

+11eneo I have some SPS and actually, I don't have trouble with two high nutrient values but rather too low (I have to feed a lot extra to keep my nitrate and phosphate levels from actually being 0).

Lol... didnt bother cos its so ugly and untidy. Its a 2 x 4ft long tank joint together with PVC pipes. in there i have compartments for mechanical wool filter (drip dry type), blocks of bio media, refugium for macro algae, bubble Magus Curve 9 skimmer, activated carbon reactor and the Fauna marine Zeolite reactor. the rest of the compartments are for frags, hospital tank and quarantine.

Hi Katchupoy01... i dun really read forums. i do my research from the internet and from youtube when comes to equipment. BRS has a very good step by step guide for starting new tank, they update weekly and for 52 weeks. what equipment you need and they give very unbias recommendation. check it out and wish you happy reefing too... :) Oh and i subbed your channel too.

Beautiful tank, have you always ran kessils with your tank? How would you compare them with ATI T5 8x54w lights for use in a SPS dominated tank?

Thanks Neal... yes i started reefing in end 2013 with a nano tank, after 6mths i got hooked to this hobby and went for 4ft tank and 3 x kessil A360 in march 2014. if you search for my past videos, you can see the progressions. I use T5 as a supplement light to cover those shaded portion.
Only recently i upgraded to slightly bigger tank and got the AP700. this light is far more brighter than the A360. the spread is much better and the intensity is similar to metal halides. 2 x A360 still lose out to 1 x AP700.
overall what i think is this, power consumption and heat generation is much lower than T5. Coral growth is much faster than T5. As for coral's colouration, alot depends on the water chemistry. so this part here has too many variants from tank to tank although using same lighting system. this is my take. pls do share your experience or thoughts too. im still in the learning process.

Gorgeous reef you have there! I read your comments about not having FM salt for three months! Same is happening here in Thailand I was forced to buy Color Elements, Coral Balance and Bakto of Ebay. Now I have stock of all those products + Reef Vitality that will last me for the next two years but I am done with FM salt and I am back to my old cheap and long time trusted salt. I am fed up with not being able to buy FM salt for the past two months or so!

hey Jorge! Sawadee Krup... thanks for your compliments and sharing similar fate as mine. FM products are good if not we would have stop right away. Its the frustrating shock when we go down to our LFS to replenish our stocks and found out its sold out. So Singaporeans are not alone about their long shipment. thanks Ellery... i didnt bother much with the software. once i setup a new program and it auto ram up and dim down. i left it be. Im running Fauna Marine zeolith system with weekly WC using FM professional salt. But very disappointed with FM cos they are not interested in Singapore market. No stock for their salt for 3 months now and those LFS selling their product have no idea when the next shipment. have no choice but to use other salt which resulted in some SPS bleeching!! disrupted the so called FM zeolith awesome system. wasted my initial investment and time. sorry for my rant, just very pissed with them and their local distributor, simply not interested.
