My 3 year old and 6 year old unlocked the fish room door and literally dosed full bottles of magnesium. Iodine , activated carbon PH buffer alkalinity puffer, Fiah food, coral fuel, coral revive coral dip etc. Full bottle directly into the sump and tank. This happened while I was asleep in bed in the early morning. I only found out and looked at my tank 8-10 hours later during the early evening while I filmed this video LIVE. I have performed a 120 gallon water change with tap water and prime as I had no ready RO water as I just did a 20gallon water change a few days ago. So I had no RO water. And I only had 5 cups of salt which was only good enough for roughly 15 -20gallons of water. As I needed to at least change 50% of the total water volume. Well i would not be stressing out that much....you have small kids around there and if you have that much money tied up in your tank....i would put a lock on the door, not only for the reason they overdosed your tank, but they could get in there and drink it their self.

Ah! I feel the pain.. My tank just overdosed on alkalinity like crazy. My tank looked like yours this mornning. Thank God I have a small system. 100% water change fixed everything.

We all have different parenting techniques, but its my humble opinion that perhaps some real discipline for those kiddos. If you ever watch western movies, take a tip from them. Scenario goes like one or more cowboys take the student cowboy and hold his head under water in the horse trough, REPEATEDLY1!! I would think that if you identified the child who orchestrated the sabotage and couldn't get some real talk out of the child, and i mean fast, place their face below the surface of the sewage in your tank until the bubbles stopped coming out of their head. Bring their head up and out, allow 2.2 seconds for them to catch a breath while repeating to them " What the FUCK were you thinking!!!???". Repeat as needed. You Sir, will not come home to that shit again. Practical, real teaching opportunity. Got to start them young my brother.

The magnesium shouldn't do much but the iodine will def not be too good. Rabin should pull it out so I would be swapping out carbon passively and actively I'm a reactor if possible. Take your top off water and use it to mix some new new water up and start doing as big of a WC possible at this point

First rule of reef keeping.... Lock up the chemicals.. You Have kids? lock the sup and tank up. It sucks but leaving the chemicals out, it was a bomb waiting to go off. I wouldn't be videoing this I would be calling fellow reefers and getting water changed out.

holy crap dude! To make you feel better my 125 cichlid tank had a huge leak and I had to drain the whole thing, put the fish upstairs, and start all over with a new tank. Put a LOCK on that door!!! I really hope you can save some of your livestock, yo.
