are 3 250w hqi too much light for a 6 foot 125 gallon reef stocked with lps and all acans

What is the power difference between the two? I ordered 2x160w 16k system because the heat and the amount of power the MH + VHO uses was killing my electric bill, not to mention the MH & VHO have to be replaced each year do to color change as the bulbs get older. I will be able to get rid of that big ballast the MH uses and the long one the VHO uses and make more room under my tank. Plus when you figure in the extra heat of old school how it effects room temp & time my AC & chiller run.

I'm sorry but the shimmer effect test was unfair the LEDs were placed only a few inches above the surface of the water were as the halide was at least a foot or 2. the more the LEDs are raised the more of a shimmer you will get try keeping both at the same height.
