Yes...same happened with my Gracilaria. If you can move it or shade it somehow, that should help.

Richard Don Absolutely. I live in a large urban area so my local fish/coral stores get different varieties in from time to time. Otherwise, search "reef macroalgae" on Google and you will find lots of online suppliers. Thanks for watching!

Why do u have to glue it, why don't you just plant it in the sand? And why no fish? :)

yes, certain people use special glue to attach plant rhizome to the media, such as anubias or ferns. probably because they don't want to see the strings hanging... though it doesnt bother me so I tied up mine ^^

+Johanan Micaiah because macroalgae is different from true plants, they don't take nutrients from roots, they just have rhizome to attach themselves. also, this is a refugium, a special fishless area to let planktons grow to become natural fish food.

Thanks...no real supplement regimen, but I do add a little crushed fish food every now and then to feed all the little critters (and there are tons of them) and to provide more nutrients for the macro algae as well.

one macro algae you might look at is called blue ocatotes i believe is what it is called I have some and it is a purplish blue.
