well on my new 4 foot tank im having 3 so i guess you would need 4 or 5 but 4 would do the job just fine.

yeah thats fine the spread is 2 foot by 2 foot by 2 feet is the ideal spread rate.

I am really curious if you have any problems with any of the nuisance algae running your green and red so high? Question two: What max white should be running? I am getting alot of conflict opions.

Thanks, good to hear. I was a bit nervous switching from Halogen to LED, I just had no clue as were to set the lights, just was told that using green and red would cause algae. Changing my lights now. Grin.

no i dont get any algae due to the light the only algae i get is due to lack of water changes i run my light at 60% for 2 hours of the day and then it is a constant ramp up and down from there.

hey I have a question on the top that you have on the tank I'm sure that you made it correct or at least have the glass cut? what I'm really interested in knowing is where you got those clips to hold the glass on top I have an Innovative Marine tank and I want to make a glass top like this thanks a lot subscribing!

+PULL MY Finger best advice besides no fish would be to have smaller fish. and a refuguim system along with consistent water changes.

+PULL MY Finger nitrates are not the devil as we have learned in the last 4 years, that is why consistent water changes and refugium biological filtration such as macroalgae is the key to a healthy Reef system my nitrates are undetectable and I don't even have a refugium system, weekly water changes charcoal is all I run. no filter .... that's like saying there should be no fish in the ocean even though there's already an ecosystem that perfectly balanced out the ocean to not have nitrates.... owning a reef system is doing our best to replicate the ocean and fish are one of the biggest parts of the attraction. I don't know why you're being the fish tank police here but you really shouldn't tell people how to run their tanks if they're looking healthy lol

+Christo Klopf fairly simple process using a app on my smart phone. ill make a tube if you want. prime vs kessil hmmmm prime 50cmx50cm coverage with 35cm suitable for sps with a quick drop in par by depth and diameter. controlling the unit is super easy with no extra bits needed. kessil xtra controller for spectrum adjustments. better focus but poor coverage. no replacement parts for kessil. both require a mount. (easy to fab a bracket for the prime. little harder for kessil but still easy.

I read that it has the ability to emulate the weather in your area, sunrise sun set and any storms or cloud cover, Is this true? Can you set it to automate those?

So you know T5 bulbs are highly customizable with multi bulb fixtures and have a very even lighting with no shadows on corals like LED.

For sure. I just wanted to make that point since there has been a movement in the hobby from LED to LED T5 Hyrbids as the best lighting for SPS growth. LEDs are pretty amazing though and your fixture and tank are beautiful. I have a CREE DIY LED and a Tek T5 and like the ease of use of the LEDs but the growth of my T5s <3

Thanks for the advice. I have the same tank and am considering to switch to the AI Prime light.
I am concerned that the metal may go into the seawater and affect the corals.

+Caleb Wong its aluminum and that does not rust over time i could/ might see some colour fading but it will not break. and plus their are only $40 so i can just get another one if need be

+John John no it saves it settings if nothing is connected to it as long as you have a smart device like a pc, phone or tablet you can use it. but i do believe there is a controller that you can buy for it

Can you tell me the actual depth of you water I have a Red Sea reefer 170 which measures 23.5width 19 deep and 20 tall everyone says this light won't work but your tank is almost the same size The water level is set about 2 inches from the top so even tho it's 20 tall the actual water will be 18 Any thoughts are helpful
