Video response to Danny about reef tanks. Maturity is the end goal of a reef tank. Stability. This is accomplished through balance. Essentially the bacteria and microfauna will do this for you if you give them what they need. Monitor the health of you system easily by checking their health. Look for mysid shrimp and bristle worms as good indications of this. My main suggestion would be to do large regular water changes. I change 50% of this tanks water every week. Now, thats only five gallons, so it only takes a minute. I usually avoid siphoning the sand. But every now and then Ill clean up the sand around the front of the tank, kind of like crop rotation in farming.

Thank you! I switched it over to a 40 breeder a few months ago and it is rolling now. Will post some updates soon! And you have a beautiful tank as well. I'd never watch TV again if I did.

Awseome tank how do you glue the corals and shrooms to the rock? I have all mine on the plugs. Do you take the rock out every time or glue and stick it threw the water in the tank onto the rock??

I leave the rock in, you really really don't want to move the corals or the rock once it's placed. I like to pop the corals off of frag plugs if they came on one, then put a bead of super glue on the bottom of the coral. You quickly put the coral on the rock and mash the little super glue bead til it has popped and is adhered to both the coral and the rock. At that point you hold it still for a few seconds and it should hold. Good luck!

50% percent seems like a large water change but clearly it works nicely. I hope to upload a video of this sometime this week but ever seen a toadstool polyps extended but not open. Unclear of why this may be happening.
