*** 1080HD *** SUBSCRIBE FOR MORE! Video of my 40 Gallon (160L) Saltwater Tank. The tank contains mostly Soft Corals and LPS, but 2 SPS (Montiporas) corals have also made it to the tank. The tank has no sump, hence the Skimmer (Tunze 9004) and filter (Tunze 3162) are both inside the display tank along with the heater. The only circulation used at the moment is a Jebao WP-25. Beautiful tank ive just set up a 40 gallon and looking for stocking ideas i have a green chromis and a fire fish and suggestions would be helpful

you like the tunze filter? i am building a 40 breeder now. i have a 1 and a 2 year old and i am afraid they will get into my cabinet and poison the sump with cheerios, lol. for that reason id rather not install a sump yet.

Yeah i like it. I was pretty satisfied with it from the beginning. But I only used it for filter sponges and kept doing my water changes. Cleaning it is pretty straightforward too.

+Sky Michaels Yep, they are hosting it. I've had a few attempts with bubble-tip anemones before, but I haven't been able to provide proper conditions for them, so I decided not to keep anemones anymore... Don't want to risk it :P

Hi Sky Michaels, thank you for the question. It is actually not an anemone, but a "Weeping Willow" Sarcophyton - a soft coral also known as a "Toadstool". The Weeping Willow kind is not seen too often, at least not in Denmark where I live.

Yeah ok. Well I can recommend the Razor. It's cheap (compared to other LED fixtures on the market), allows you to fully control the color, set sunrise/sunset etc. and finally it looks really good above the tank!

Thanks! I'm in the process of setting up another 40gal and I'm just finding out what others have been using for lights so I have something to go off of. ( I have a metal halide t5ho combo over my current 40gal).

+Robandoban Thank you! I have a Maxspect Razor 160W (16K) Fixture above the tank. The lamp has standard 45 degrees lenses on, but due to the length of the tank it would be better to have 90 degree lenses on instead.

Wow amazing tank. I want to do a 40 breeder reef too and have been back and forth between sump or not but this tank is perfext and just goes to show that a sump isnt a requirement

Thanks you very much! It is a young blue tang - and I know 40 is not a lot, but for his size compared to the tank size he has more space than many tangs I've seen. He will, however, move to a bigger tank when I find him too big for the 40 gallons. Thanks again for your comment!
